So I was invited to an interview early January and scheduled it for Feb 15 in Atlanta. I was all set to go when I got an email from the admissions team asking to move the interview to this week:
"Greetings from Goizueta Business School! Your application file has been preliminarily reviewed by the MBA Admissions Committee and we were impressed with your background. I see that you are scheduled to interview on Thursday, February 15th, but I was hoping that we could interview you sooner. "

I couldn't move the interview, but they wanted me to still schedule a conversation with Julie Barefoot, which I had today. The conversation was very much an interview, as she asked me about my background / aspirations. Now I am kind of confused because I still have my official interview and am wondering what her motivations were for having this "mini interview."

Anyone have any ideas?

Well, prima facie it does look like a positive sign that the Adcoms are eager to interview you. So, I would suggest you enjoy the attention. Just don't get casual or callous about it.
