I am pretty sure most of us feel that we've got 1/100th of a percent chance compared to others (me with my GPA)..but seriosuly I can't stop checking my email.......even though I know there is nothing coming until October...this is going to be a longgggg month.

Did you do Yale? I remember last year a few people got an invite literally one or two days after completing their video interview.

I can't expect anything until my recommendations are in.

I did do Yale but I am waiting on a rec and I think they may wait until the last minute to submit that rec but I hope you are right and I'll hear back right after they submit it.

Hey guys - in a bit of a sticky situation here, hoping someone can provide advice.

I misplaced the undergraduate transcript I ordered a few months ago. My college refuses to provide digital/unofficial copies, and the earliest I'd be able to get a replacement is Thursday, after the Rd 1 deadline. I have a partial transcript up to junior year that I could upload... I am exhausting all possible options, but worst case scenario, do you think it would be okay to upload this and then email them a full version separately afterwards?

The rest of my app is complete. I would really, really hate to miss the Rd 1 deadline for this technical error and oversight on my part.

I would email HBS and ask them if they would accept a partial transcript until Thursday...they are very friendly.

HBS admission does tend to be friendly. Do you have scanned copies/photocopies of the transcript that you misplaced? I guess if you did, you wouldn't ask, but worth looking for.

Thank you guys very much for the responses.

I don't have a scanned copy - I wish I did! From now on, I'm permanently archiving one in my email.

I'm a little loath to email HBS admissions because I'm worried this makes a bad impression (candidate last min scrambling for something they should've been on top of...) I could try and go in person tomorrow morning to my university to pick it up, but this would be a huge logistical hassle. I guess what I'm asking is, will they ding my application for this request? Or are they genuinely okay with it?

I don't think they will ding you for asking them a application question...maybe leave out the part that you lost your original and just say something like "due to unforeseen circumstances..." but honestly if it worries you, applying Round 1 is important enough to you, and its just a matter of logistics then I'd just go get in in person.

Yes. I agree with FPM. If it's a matter of logistics, just grind it out man. You don't want to miss out on a R1 deadline.

Here's what I'd do. Upload the incomplete transcript for now. Email them that there was a mix up with your transcript (use more business-y language if you have to, but I wouldn't)

Tell them that you're actually committed to make ends meet and take the trek to your college to pick it up. That way they will have a record if you get it later than you have to for you to be able to send it in later in case you miss your deadline.

The fact that you are super willing to do what it takes will offset the fact that you lost your transcript.

And about them dinging you because you made a simple request? NO WAY! If you're someone HBS was willing to admit, you definitely have way too many good things going for you for one small goof-up to undo anything.

I agree. Get up mega early, get the transcript in person, scan it and get it in before the deadline (and make everything else is already submitted and entered in and that this is truly the only missing piece. That's what your other very, very, VERY competitive fellow applicants would do, so I think it's best for you to rise to the challenge.

Good luck!

SUBMITTED! I can't believe we have to wait until October - this feels interminable.

As an update re: transcript disaster, I managed to get a full copy this morning and uploaded it with my application. HBS Admissions never responded to my email about the partial transcript, for anyone who might encounter this issue in the future... definitely not a mistake I will make again.

Good luck to all the applicants!

Well let's hope for the best!
I'm focusing on quality International Business programs so for R1 I'm only applying to Insead, HBS and Wharton Lauder.

Am I the only one stalking the admission's blog of HBS for updates on Interview decision?
