Does anyone know what percentage of all offers is given in R1?

Hello KDM25 - I don't think there is any specific answer to this. As those numbers are not broadcasted and0 it also depends upon a number of other factors.

But the question is definitely intriguing and do post here if at all you come to know.

Hi guys,

I have a straightforward question and hope you can help:

I have a bachelor's degree from a German university and a master's degree from MIT (1.75 yrs.). After graduation, I have worked 2 years in an international company. My verbal GMAT score is 41 (94%).

Should I apply in round 1 without a TOEFL score or in round 2 with a TOEFL score?

As a reminder: "Candidates who received a bachelor's degree from a university where English is NOT the sole language of instruction but received a Master's or Ph.D. degree from a university program where English was the sole language of instruction are also strongly advised, though not required, to submit TOEFL iBT, IELTS or PTE scores as part of their initial written application process. ".

Thanks.

Hi kdg13, I think you should apply in R1 without TOEFL. I would recommend that you write in the additional essays section your reasons for waiving the exam.
If for some reason the adcom requires that you take it, they will inform you and you can just take it before R2.
I don't think they will nullify your application because of a missing TOEFL exam.

You didn't list your age or career background...but I just was going to say that generally on this forum all of us are nervous about at least one thing on our profile (GPA for me) but nothing we can do about it now just working on putting our best foot forward by addressing weakness in your profile, writing excellent essays, having clear career goals and seeing what happens. We're all in this together and the only thing that will definitely get you denied is not applying at all.

I am concerned because I am applying R2, and will be 32

I am concerned because in my career I have been a lower level minion with few opportunities to show leadership, or be promoted.

I worked as a laboratory analyst at biotechnology companies. I have recently done more project management, but no official promotion or title change.

I have recently taken on more experience at lots of my jobs, but few companies reward that if you do not have a PhD.

I now work at a pretty dynamic start up which has given me more responsibility and the reason why i have realized that i am more dynamic than i thought. i am managing timelines, CRO's and multiple science projects By i am using matrix people and have not been given a new title

Oh man. I'll do that this weekend. I'm also considering submitting all my apps. I am done and I don't want to agonise longer. When do we here the first wave of disappointments again?

They haven't said yet...the email they sent to me to confirm submission just said early October.

Ugh that's scary close. I have no game but I'd like to know when I have to switch off my phone and go for a hike.

Yes it is! But I am glad that HBS tells people whether or not you are going to get an interview and when you will know because waiting and not knowing anything for the entire fall would be so hard.

A quick question please. So I entered my TOEFL scores and it says that
Thanks for entering your TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE score. Now, we just need a little more information. In what context are you currently reading, writing, and speaking English?

Now what am I supposed to do here?

I did that too. I think it automatically assumes that your undergrad was in a different language. So I deleted my TOEFL scores and it was fine.

Just FYI, HBS does not need TOEFL scores if your undergrad was in English.
