I interviewed in person with Jim Holmen, Director of Admissions, in New York today. The conversation interview lasted approximately 35 minutes. It flowed very well the whole time and we covered a few topics including:
  • Why an MBA
  • Why now?
  • Why Kelley?
  • Short and long term goals
  • Strengths and weaknesses

We discussed some of these in more detail than others just based on follow-up questions he had. Then I had an opportunity to ask a few questions. It was an extremely relaxed, friendly atmosphere. And now the waiting continues until decisions are released...

I won't say that you're dinged. I have spoken to a lot of Kelley students, they keep rolling out calls for a month or so...even I haven't got a call yet, I submitted my application on 5th Jan.

From some discussions during my interview this weekend, it sounds like they might not be finished with interview invites. The Director of Admissions is traveling a lot over the next few weeks so international candidates invited to interview will have an opportunity to meet with him in person.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for everyone!

I got my invitation for interview today at around 11AM Singapore time so will be around 9PM Indiana time. The admission office really works long hour... I submitted on 5 Jan so dont lose hope everybody and rest assured that adcom is working very hard to review every application.
