There have been lots of references to Gmatclub members as "boys, man, fellas etc." lately. Remember almost 50% of gmatclub's users are women!! :-)
Hahahahaha  I must say that's a keen observation! Foolishly though, I find it funny given the situation. Amongst all the hullabaloo over the interview waiver, you notice the gender biasness in posts. Lol  That said, I admire your observation skill and appreciate your point. :-)

P.S. No offenses intended with the use of the word 'fella'. I had a feeling that the word is neutral. However, usage of fellow would have been better as fella has a masculine bias. ;)

Lol! No offense taken. To be honest, I doubt that most guys notice but its easy to notice if you are a woman. Like. Every single person who has messaged me through gmatclub always starts out with Hey man! LOL...not. a. man. :-D

Received a waiver.

After reading through the posts, I came to the following conclusion: definitely there is No Alum in Mumbai OR if there is any Alum, then he/she is not willing to interview the candidates. I won't consider it as a straight ding. I'm sure the fact that all Mumbai applicants here received a waiver means that Kellogg could not arrange an Alum. So, chillax and stay positive guys. N pray that whatever you have provided in the application impresses the Adcoms and that while reading your application they get a feeling that I want this person at Kellogg.

I understand that odds are stacked against us 70-30 (70-ding, 30-Adcom interview), but it is definitely a positive sign that nobody got an interview invite in your area. I won't consider myself out yet. I knew that applying to Kellogg meant competing against the best of best in the world and I still was up for the challenge. I feel you knew n felt the same .....

So fellas, you are NOT done n dusted YET. I am NOT done n dusted YET! Not until I receive a Ding mail! I hope for the best. I wish you the best. :-)

All the Best Fellas

Very well said! No point stressing and trying to find patterns in the process that don't actually exist. If the adcom says it does not affect our chances, lets just take it at face value and get on with it.

Reconcile it however you want . I regret applying despite of knowing what I did .

Totally. Looking at some profiles (who have got the waiver) purely on the basis of gmat, gpa and years of workex (since the kellogg team does not read the applications, I presume if they had to pick and choose who got a waiver and who didn't, it would be on the basis of these numbers), the process seems very opaque.

I would like to believe that the waiver does not impact my chances just like the adcom states. Then I wouldn't complain one bit. But going by last few years trends, it surely does.

I guess it’s different this year because not many people from Mumbai got invites. Last year tons of mumbai people got interviews while mine was waived which makes me somewhat cynical about the random waive claim.

They probably have more suitable suitors seeking seats, than the ones they waived.

They have the interview-all process for applicants across the world. Why would they manipulate / lie / (something milder) only for one demographic? The Chinese are as strong/competitive an applicant pool. There is SOME selection surely though - mostly automated / objective criteria based. That criteria could be GMAT / work ex - number of years or companies / goals / UG university and GPA etc.

As someone posted its hard to believe they didn't read any applications for 5+ weeks but my gut says the cost of not being ethical about this would be much more (than interviewing everyone or admitting they can't) so the school wouldn't indulge in some of the theories being written about here.

No, this is the first communication I've received from Kellogg.
