My application fee was also waived. I think I read it somewhere that other people were also reporting the same issue. As long as we submitted the application successfully- I guess that's fine!

I am not sure about this. You were supposed to make the payment first and then submit the application as clearly stated in the application process. Waiver was only for those who availed it using the form provided that too a week in prior.

Where did you make the payment? I saw no option to submit payment information.

I called Admissions today and they didn't really know why I had this problem. They said not to worry about it and they'll contact me if they need a payment.

It was the penultimate tab. Just before the 'Review and Submit' option.

All it said for me was "Your application fee has been waived." There was nothing else there. Did you have a screen where you entered payment information?

You are a military officer. I think that is why your fee was waived. Their system must have read it from your application and waived the fee automatically.

And yes, I got a payment screen to input payment details.

That's weird. I got a different email from them... Maybe I'm not as good a candidate as you.

"We plan to begin inviting applicants to interview in late October and early November. It is also possible to be waitlisted and interviewed during our Round 2 application review."

Any LGO applicants here? I applied to the LGO program and have not gotten this email with 4 dates. Instead I got an email today saying my application is complete and is currently under review.

Same here. I figured out why I got a different email from the others after my post.

The different emails situation was intriguing.
This is my first application ever, and I'm starting to feel anxiously excited (or excitedly anxious).

I guess I have no clue how competitive my application really is... will find out soon enough...

Everyone who noted receiving a different email was an LGO applicant. Clearly, the process is slightly different for LGO's. I applied to the traditional 2Y MBA and received the same email others did with the 4 dates.

Hey everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster. I went through this process last year and am currently a first year at Sloan. 5 years of work experience in finance and tech. Thought I'd pay it forward and offer to answer some questions - so ask away!

yl Hi, Thanks for helping us out. I wanted to know more about your experience on the action learning labs. Is this something that you do only during your first year? I am also curious about the Sloan's teaching style. I know that each semester has an innovation period in between, which I believe is mostly lectures. Do you also do case studies before/after that? Can you elaborate more on the teaching style?

souvik101990, Can you help arrange a short interview with him where he can answer all these questions? Just throwing the idea out there.

Sure - I applied in R1 and received an invite I think in mid October. I was based in the Bay Area and they offered a few slots over there, but also gave the opportunity to do the interview on campus. I chose to go to campus - although I don't believe this actually makes a difference. My interview was about 50 minutes. The admissions person who interviewed me had one or two specific questions about my application (I think about my extracurriculars) and the other questions were pretty standard (talk about how a time you influenced). Sloan emphasizes your past so we didn't really talk about what I wanted to do after, other than why I thought Sloan would be a good fit.

Hope this helps!

Hi there - We started classes less than a month ago so to be honest I haven't had any action learning lab experience yet. I believe the Enterprise Management track folks are doing one the first semester (think it's a consulting project, but I'm not sure) You can ask me more about it next semester, but I'm afraid that's all I have for now.

On the innovation period - it's leadership and ethics workshops your first semester, and then I believe there are more options during later semesters. Other options include study trips to different countries, some non traditional workshops. I think preparation depends on what you do during SIP.

On teaching style - it's a mix of cases and lectures, which I prefer. Cases take a long time to prepare for and it's nice sometimes to be able to just sit and listen. That being said, there is still a lot of participation required during lectures and professors do cold call.

Thanks! This is very helpful. Can you elaborate on the influence questions? Were there multiple questions about a time you influenced someone/a group?

I honestly can't remember. It was something about a time where I didn't agree with a process and what I did.

Oh and I think there was another question about a time I faced an ethical challenge or something.
