Just got the acceptance email today! No call. The bschool app process was very stressful, so I'm glad it all worked out. Good luck everyone!

Hey all, I applied from India and still haven't heard back from the school. Is it safe to admit that it's a ding for me?

what's the NYU acceptance % after interviews this year? Still as high as prior years (>70%)?

eeaaggllee

The following information might help you. It is based on GMATClub's Decision tracker.

For 2017, 76 of 106 interviewed applicants got admitted => acceptance % after interview = 71.06%
For 2018, 88 of 122 interviewed applicants got admitted => acceptance % after interview = 72.13%
For 2019, 77 of 96 interviewed applicants got admitted => acceptance % after interview = 80.20%
For 2020, 82 of 112 interviewed applicants got admitted => acceptance % after interview = 73.21%
For 2021(only Round 1 and Round 2), 25 of 44 interviewed applicants got admitted => acceptance % after interview = 56.81%

As you can see, for 2021, considering only R1 and R2, acceptance % after an interview is 56.81% so far. I guess this lower % is because of the fact that not all applicants have updated their trackers yet. We have seen these numbers to stabilize after all the admission rounds are completed but for now, the acceptance % after interviews seems to be less than what it used to be in previous years.

Thank you so much! Interviewing next week...hopefully the reason is because people are not timely updating

Also, in Stern's Interview FAQ, they mention they only interview 20-25% of their applicant pool, but they also mention the percentage can vary. Realistically I want to say 25-30%. Regardless, your chances of admission after an interview are high. If you come prepared for the interview, I don't see why you wouldn't get in.

No problem! I posted an interview debrief that should help you out (I was admitted last Friday). Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.

I was admitted via a phone call last week but did not receive any email. My application was updated and had the offer letter there. For those who received an email, is there any difference between the offer letter posted on the NYU website and from the email?

I am trying to figure out when I can initiate my background check process.
