I applied through the consortium in round 2 and received an interview invite on 1/18 during the first wave.

Technically you could make +$50,000/annum during the MBA, through short-term work, which I've seen people do (purportedly; I'm not sure they're being truthful). But if this is true, then maybe you're not foregoing salary. Also, if your parents are paying for the MBA (or if you get a scholarship), then tuition is not really a burden to you directly.

Seriously doubt one's ability to work given the constraints of a full-time, competitive MBA program (student-led groups, travel, recruiting, coursework) Also, should your parents front the cost of the MBA, why not front the air fare needed to interview? Just a thought.

Agree.. Considering the hectic schedules of MBA students ( few students have shared their daily scheduled on forum) doing part time work can be very challenging.

Would it be silly to hope they will sending more invites today and tomorrow? Were round 1 invites sent in a day or were they spread across a few days?
