Hi
I applied to the 2020 intake cycle for Rotman's MBA close to the R2 deadline, post interview I was waitlisted and in May 2020 was denied admission. I am looking to reapply this cycle specially in the Early round or R1.
My profile: A finance/capital markets professional with 6 years of experience, 3 in Pakistan and 3 in the UAE, working for a bank's treasury desk in FX and Fixed Income. I have completed my CFA and applied to Rotman via the CFA GMAT waiver and hence haven't given the GMAT.
Questions
1. how much of my essay 'spike factor' do I change from last year
2. given that may 2020 (when I was denied) and now isn't a great deal of time, how would I reflect any improvement in application
3. Apart form writing the GMAT, any tips/suggestions ?
From the latest episode on Rotman Podcast Adcom said that GMAT does not improve the profile of someone with CFA Level 3. They cannot offer a Gmat exemption for CFA then proceed to penalise applications who take the exemption.
I think the best option is to redo the spike factor essay to improve your application. Then also review the interview with Adcom, are there questions that you think you could have answered better? Rotman has a strong focus on communication and presence.
