Calling all Sloan MIT Applicants (2016 Intake) Class of 2018!!

Verification happens after the deposit and there is an option to delay verification until a certain date if you haven't told your employer yet (I was in the same boat).

Deposit last year was $3500.

If you got an interview, it means you were on-paper qualified. A ding after the interview most likely means something learned from the interview or how you interviewed did not go well, so I wouldn't drive myself crazy over speculations about the GPA/GMAT as the reason for a ding this late in the game.

Only 9% of the R1 applicants got in ? Well at least it makes me feel better.

How are the R2 applicants doing? Almost ready?

I'm not sure if anyone else has the same thoughts, but it was a little strange to me that they didn't make you explain your responsibilities, reasons for leaving, etc in the employment section. And they didn't have anywhere to ask about your career goals or extracurricular interests. The essays asks about a recent success, which is fine, but doesn't have much to do with my journey or reasons for wanting to go to Sloan, in particular.

Also, my link in the option section ended up going into the second line of the printable/pdf version. So, unless someone copies and pastes into into a browser, it won't work. Is this worth calling the admissions office about?

1) Read up on Sloan's process on their admissions blog... They operate with the mentality that past successes are the best indicator of future performance. They also acknowledge that people switch what they want to do in an MBA program frequently, so don't see career goals as a top indicator of success in their program

2) They view optional essays on iPads, so as long as they can click the link, you'll be fine!

I was told during my interview it was both the highest number of applicants and highest quality applicants they had ever had in R1/early round.

Got dinged by CBS, guess my chance with MIT is going dim. Very heartbroken day for me.

Does anybody know if MIT has a grace period for recommendations coming in after the deadline?

Demo, I called the admissions office this morning and they told me they have a grace period until the 20th. After that they will review your application with what they have. Hope it helps.

Submitted for R2. Although one of my recommendation is pending. Adcom officially mentioned 20th Jan, but stressed that sooner the better.

Hello Everyone

I tried to submit my application but due to server error it was delayed by 4 hours. ( 7PM EST 14th Jan). Do you think my application will still be considered for R2 or for R3 now?

Does anyone have an idea of how interview invites are sent out for Sloan? Batches or rolling? Right away or do we wait awhile?

(Yale has already started inviting...)
