Gosh, just submitted my app yesterday, but then today, they freaked me out by sending me an invite to their ambassador program... Ugh! On the other hand, just received an email saying my app is complete and ready for review with some more info on what to expect in the application process, which was reassuring and helpful.

Yeah, I guess they sent that to everyone. Got excited with the "You're invited!" subject line. A bit of a tease.

A few notes for everyone who just submitted. I am sure they will get lost and everyone will keep asking the same questions...but wanted to put it out there.

1) The interview invites trickle out over approximately a 4 week period (for R1 they started ~5 weeks after the deadline, in previous years R1 it was closer to 4 - not sure for previous years R2). There are days with a lot of activity. Some with none. And then some with only a few. For the most part the invites are geography based (however there were people who were invited after most invites to their geography had been sent).

2). Sloan is the worst with emails. Over the course of the entire application process expect a ton of "You're Invited..." and "Learn about XYZ Program" emails. They don't seem to indicate anything other than Sloan has your email. Their campaign management tool does not seem very sophisticated.

Thanks for your clarifications and congratulations on your admissions to two superb programs.

With the exception of a few schools like HBS, it seems most schools send out invitations on a rolling basis.

I've combed through some of the threads from the 2014-15 cycle and R1 of the current cycle - it seems that the period between the 4th week and 12th week is the most excruciating for fellow applicants.

Good luck everyone.

I applied for R2 and can't wait to know if I'm called to interview. How do you manage the waiting?

Distract yourself by keeping busy with other things? The schools that I applied to won't be getting back to people for another week or two at least, so I just have to forget about it sometimes. It's a relatively short wait compared with the whole process!

I hear ya pal! I keep checking my mail every few hours, hoping.
I guess we just have to sit tight and deal with it.
Aside from keeping myself busy with work, I've started watching a new anime show, enough episodes to keep me occupied till February. =P

MIT is really my dream school, so I not only poured my soul and sweat into the essay but showed my full strength. With this said, I showed off my multilinguistic abilities: I can speak Mandarin, Japanese, French and Latin--more precisely, I can write and read Latin and speak Italian to some point. So I am kind of reviewing French in case I get the invite and they send a French second-year to me. Really a good distraction though.

You have an impresive GMAT, GPA and language abilities. I'm sure your essay are just as great. i think you will get in! Good luck.
