To all waitlisted students.

Historically Mays suffers from very low yield - that is students actually enrolling, who are offered admission.
If I am not wrong, it is about 50%. Of course, admission teams knows this and admits a few more than their capacity to account for this, but there is still a good chance of getting the admission.

I am quite sure, many of you too applied here (at Mays) as a backup. At the same time, there are benefits of going to Mays - shorter duration, lower expenses and lower opportunity costs, weather of course and to be in a state where taxes are very low. And it places much better too - with 90% + of its students with jobs in hand after 3 months of graduation.

So, take it easy, the WL should move. By how far and by how much admission committee has accounted for while putting some on WL and admitting a few is the only uncertainty.

Hi, I have also been put on the waitlist. But, I did not yet receive interview invite yet. Other aspirants, who have been put on the waitlist, did you received an interview invite?

Without sugarcoating, it is not great news. The silver-lining? It's not all that bad and uncommen either.
You see, the people who are WL after interview have either of two things: Their profile was strong enough to warrant an interview, but may be the interview wasn't as successful. Or, they would admit that person, if some other admitted person didn't enroll.
Now, for those who are on WL without interview, are practically in competition with that first lot (whose interview wasn't successful). Because, your profile was strong, but not that much that they invited you to an interview, but just strong enough that they didn't discount you out.
So, if adcom is not convinced about those on WL with interview should be admitted, you'd be invited for an interview and if successful, may be even admitted.

It's not all lost yet, but chances are pretty slim.
