• Radio officer managing Global Maritime Distress Safety System equipment on-board the vessel

Key Achievements
Successfully managed the crew during a 6-month siege in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Recommended for promotion to Chief Officer.
Prevented collision and environmental damages worth $12M by strict implementation of safety policy and emergency procedures against commercial challenges inside the Congo river, against master’s decision.

Key Achievements
Avoided damages worth $5M to the ship during the grounding incident by proper manoeuvring during steering failure. Appreciated by Company CEO and master for effective bridge team management during the real-life crisis.
Collectively saved about $20,000 for owners by negotiating with provision vendors.
Reduced any injury loss time on ships by 75% and assured safety of crew by promoting strict safety measures. Commended by senior managers and was regarded as Safety Champion (SUN) for the tenure on-board.
Saved about $15,000 and possible detention of the vessel in Germany by troubleshooting the vessel’s Electromagnetic Log.

Averted loss of Lifeboat out at sea and saved company’s reputation and loss of $50,000 by leading a team to successfully repair the Lifeboat Davit launching system on the vessel.
Reduced the TAT of the vessel by 10 hours while optimising the ballast operations to cope with faster loading rate at Port Arthur, USA and increased the efficiency by 35%.
Role – Junior Navigating Officer (Foreign Going) Mar’12 – Jul’14
• Assisted Chief Officer in daily work schedule and optimizing rest hours as per Manila Labour Convention Act, 2006
• Oversaw pre-loading operations that included inventory management, procurement of equipment and materials, shipping and storage area preparation and inspection, under chief officer
• Handled Garbage Management of the vessel – one of the most regulated practices on ships - under chief officer.
Key Achievements
Saved $25 million from fines and earned appreciation from US coast guards by devising new anti-pollution measures to avoid spillage of oily water. The practice is now used on the full Fleet Management Hong Kong fleet.
Achieved nil deficiencies during multiple Port State Inspections around the globe.
