Is training during Job is considered as work ex or not. I had joined Nuclear Industry in 2011 but had to undergo 9 months of Classroom training and 3 months of On Job Training. Should I show it as work ex or exclude it

Hi shimri, I am successful first generation woman social entrepreneur in the field of education from India with a background in computer engineering and reasonably good social initiatives showcasing leadership skills and a few recognized awards and certifications too. With 1.5yrs of tech experience+ 7-8 yrs of business experience, can I get into full-time program in Stanford or Haas (I currently live in bay area, California)? Starting to study for GMAT only now. What are my chances? How should I proceed?
Post MBA want to get into edtech preferably or social responsibility jobs.

Hi ConquerMBA
(sorry about the above, I used your name for another answer...)
WOW, your profile sounds AMAZING! naturally, Stanford is the toughest school in the world to get into, so hard for me to estimate your chances, without knowing more about you and knowing what your GMAT is... but again, sounds like you have a terrific profile!

Besides the full-time MBAs you could also do the part-time MBA at Haas or Anderson... or even maybe the EMBA at Wharton (SF campus)

Anyways, what next?
1. GMAT GMAT GMAT (no GMAT no MBA)
2. You have two options
2. 1 if you want to work on GMAT and apps in parallel (for R1) talk to me ASAP
2.2 if you want to first finish with the GMAT (even if you miss R1) then, finish with it, and then reach out…
I am always on Shimriw@ARINGO.com
GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for this. I am an international student East Asian male, how would that impact the difficulty in the admissions?
ARINGO
sounds like you have quite a profile! wondering more about your undergrad, GMAT, hobbies, work experience etc. community experience is just one factor... send me your profile to shimriw@ARINGO.com and I will try to do a quick SWOT and help further

if you come from an overpopulated background, your chances are a bit lower... but, it is all about your story...

if you have been working since 2011 - then your work exp. is on the high side, then, why not show 2011 as training...
but to be honest, it was 11 years ago, less important if you show this year as training or work exp. same same...

Thanks for replying to my question, Shimri.

Long term goals: would you suggest naming some companies as an example? Should I mention something like "I want to be a Partner of Sustainability and Decarbonization Practice at Bain or the Chief Sustainability Officer for Unilever or P&G?
