Well the acknowledgement email does say April 3 is the latest date to receive a response. Save to infer you might receive earlier than the said date.

I remembered something that I wanted to share with you, as you are preparing your application packages.

I spoke to quite a few people here at INSEAD, and it seems like the majority (just like me) hired admissions consultants to prepare their applications. There's hardly any data available on that, but just keep in mind that many people are leveraging experts' advice, which adds up to the competitive pressure. And given that INSEAD does not encourage re-application, it makes sense to consider this in order to maximise your chances.

This information is new to me! Does this mean that applying again for the next year incase of a reject isn't worth your time? Can you kindly throw some light on this?
I am relatively new to MBA college rules regarding admissions. Is this particular to Insead or a general unspoken rule among all B-Schools?

Hi, I started my application in the online system for R2 intake beginning of this year and assumed that my app would be carried forward once R1 deadline was over. Just checked and the portal says that the deadline is over and there are no available application forms for MBA at the moment. I am guessing its a technical glitch. Has anyone faced something similar?

Cheers!

It isn't a general rule among all b-schools. Indeed, a large percentage of students securing admission in top B-schools are re-applicants. However, INSEAD do not favour re-applicants to the same extent as do other schools.

Hey, sorry for a delayed response. It's more of an INSEAD rule, here's a quote:

"In general, we do not encourage reapplications unless there has been a significant professional or personal development since the initial application was submitted."

Re: INSEAD January 2016 Intake (Class of December 2016) [#permalink]
Submitted my application for R1. Super psyched and anxiously waiting to hear from them regarding the interview outcome. Eagerly waiting!!

This is a question for the current students/alumni - I know this question has been answered multiple times but if someone can help me clarify, that would be great!

INSEAD's re-application policy does not deny you from applying for the next intake. But is it recommended to wait till next intake (Sept 16) or next to next intake (Jan 17)? Also is there a re-applicant essay as well?

Although hoping for the best for this intake but would need some direction if I do get rejected :( INSEAD is my dream school and I am gonna keep trying until I get in!

From:- https://mba.insead.edu/admissions/dates_deadlines.cfm.

"If you choose to delay submission of your application until the following round of the same intake, your application form details will be saved automatically. Note that access to your form will be temporarily disabled from 00:00am (Central European Time) on the day of the deadline, as the system will shutdown for about four days. Access to your form will resume once the temporary shutdown period ends, so you can continue editing it."

I would say try after a couple of days and it should be back to normal for R2.

How is everyone dealing with the wait? I'm nervous about possible interviews, how much emphasis is placed on them? What's the acceptance rate after interview? Anyone know any ways to start preparing now already?

I'm the same boat! The wait is so painful...my heart skipped a beat with I got an email from AO JS yesterday, only to see that it merely said my application is complete and under review. rawr!

Anyway, here's some info I've compiled.

1) Regarding the importance of the interviews from the official INSEAD rep Camille
ask-insead-admissions-127157-240.html#p1469527

"Interviews are here to assess personality, presentation and communication skills, and overall genuineness of the candidate. Usually candidates are denied after interviews because both went badly."

The AskINSEAD thread is actually quite useful. ask-insead-admissions-127157.html#p1040356

2) Interview debriefs Sept 2015 intake and Jan 2015 intake

I looked through the entire Sept 2015 intake thread and these are all the interview debriefs from the previous intake up until March 12. I had a hard time separating them into rounds since some people posted them quite late in the process.

I've also attached a debrief for the Jan 2015 compiled by farhanc85

Echoed. Amazing stuff there sofalee. Thanks for putting it all together for us.

I submitted mine on 6th March, have yet to receive a confirmation from INSEAD. Should I be worried?

Hey, sorry for a delayed response. It's more of an INSEAD rule, here's a quote:

Well, from what I've seen it's more of a discouragement than a rule. If you really want to go, re-apply. We've seen a few folks get in on a reapplication. It's gotta make sense and be passionate, and they are less open to it than other schools, but don't take no for an answer if you think it's for you.
