It's time for R2 applicants to take over this discussion. We have separate threads for R1 admits and waitlisters. Look forward to applicants joining their respective threads.
Does anyone know when R2 applicants should expect an interview invitation by?

Much like round 1, it’s on a rolling basis. Expect round 2 invites to go out between January 27-30, and for a small amount of invites and all dings without interview to go out January 31.
Slightly off topic question. A few years ago, right after GMAC started allowing to cancel gmat scores, Booth was asking to see unofficial score reports and basically list all attempts even if they were canceled. Did they drop that part of the application or do they still ask for it?

They don’t ask to see it on the application or what the score was, just ask how many times you’ve taken the test.
Is that a common question on the applications this year? Have you seen other schools asking for this info? It was a bit odd when Booth asked for the unofficial PDF. Just trying to see if it is a pattern or just a one off Booth-thing.
What year did they ask for it? Might have been a one time (one year) thing. I haven’t seen any school asking for previous/canceled scores. Why you bringing it up... some school curious about previous scores?

I apologize for an off topic discussion. A user in the gmat forum was asking about the best approach to having multiple scores. The only program I remember that asked about multiple attempts was Booth so I was wondering if any other apps asked for the number of tests attempted.
I updated the optional essay in booth but i couldn't see it in application viewer. I tried doing a copy paste again but still nothing. So i have submitted the application as is. Should i ask ascoms if optional essay is visible at their end?

I assume you’re applying for round 2? Did you see your work in the optional essay section after you saved it and went back to it? If it was there, you should be good. I don’t believe it shows on the application proof, just the short answers and essays.

Yes. I did check it. It was visible after I jumped to other tabs and came back on the optional essay tab.
Chicago Booth immerses you in a choice-rich environment. How have your interests, leadership experiences, and other passions influenced the choices in your life? (250-word minimum)
Can we use personal circumstances and background to address this question? For example, I experienced X during this- therefore I am pursuing this goal?

Yes I think most good attempts at this prompt use some form of a personal example and tie it into their current profile and future goals.
Does anyone know if Booth is ok with a late submission for the reccomender letters?

The best way to get this info is to ask their admission office. Give them a call and ask them if it is okay. Generally schools would give you a week (or maybe a bit less or more) for your recommenders to turn it in, but some schools are more strict with their deadlines.

Yes this has been a common question for all top 10 schools to ask how many time you've taken the GMAT. Annoying quite frankly. Defeats entire point of GMAC hiding number of times you've taken GMAT. Oh well.

Agreed. i think GMAC did not quite think through that one quite well before rolling it out or just selling a dream that is not quite accurate but helps to make money on restoring scores and "feeling" safe to keep retaking or maybe I have just read too many conspiracy theories in the last 24 hrs...

I thought the canceled scores they don't show up, so the school would never know?
