Hi,
Is the minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 only applicable for final year or one needs to have an overall CGPA of at least 3.0?

According to Rotman website, for IITs in India, a GPA of 3.0 translates to 7.5/10. I am from IIT and have an overall CGPA of 7.42/10. However, my final year GPA is 7.83/10. Do I cross the GPA threshold?

Hi

I applied to Rotman in the second week of October, 2020. I have a 3 year bachelors degree and 1 year post graduate diploma. While I uploaded the grading scale for my bachelors degree along with the transcript, I did not upload the grading scale for my PG Diploma along with the transcript. I only uploaded the PG Diploma transcript. How important is the grading scale? I have emailed the grading scale to the school separately but will this negatively impact my application?

Three reasons come to my mind,

1-Your reference(s) is (are) knocked out you. (medium possibility)
2-Your spike factors did not match your profile/desires/Rotman Values (high possibility)
3-Rotman found out that Ivey rejected you and did not want to proceed further because the number of applicants soared. (least possibility)

I suspect that adcom members are so selective this year. To me, it is just a minor possibility. I have never heard a similar case.

Rotman rejects students who they think will abandon Rotman for a US top school and given your profile, it seems to be the case.

You have a profile that can even land you into cornell (depending on a few other things). Instead of thinking on what you have lost, think on how much more are you capable of winning. Just like Rotman knows that you have a better profile than theirs, I am certain that you should think the same.

There are students who are willing to land in Canadian Institutions solely for Canadian work permit flexibility. He is Indian, he does not have a PR. I do not agree.

You don't necessarily need a CAD degree to get a PR.
US degrees open up doors to get a PR through express entry.
2 years is a bare minimum for MBA candidates anywhere usually. Adding 3 years STEM OPT MBA experience and then if you don't get an H1b on third attempt, you can then apply for a PR with your bachelor's degree, your master's degree and high skilled job category with international experience and cracking an easy test called IELTS. There are possibilities that even Rotman is aware of.

Needless to say that people who qualify for an admission in a US 10-20 (usnews rankings) must produce a strong case in favour of "Why Canada"
