GMAT 650 (Q50,V27) - Schulich or McGill

Question

Hi,

I gave my GMAT a week back and scored 650(Q50,V27) in my first attempt and am planning to apply for a B-school in Fall 2021 session.
I will have an experience of 3.5 years by the time I join any college in that session.
As of now, I'm planning to apply for Sauder Business School and any one between Schulich and McGill (Desautels)University.

Can someone please suggest me if I'm on the right path or should I think about an second attempt.

Hey Naman,

McGrill generally prefer experience above 5 years. 650 is a decent score but I would suggest you for a second attempt thought you might not like my suggestion.

I've done a lot of research on Canadian universities, as per my research, anything around 680+ should give you a good chance on any of the above schools you mentioned. But, yes, lot of it also depends on your complete application.

650 GMAT is a competitive score to the mentioned schools. But for the average work experience of McGill would be around 5 years.

While 650 isn't bad, I'd look to bring up the Verbal score (47th percentile), which I imagine could bring up some red flags. Do you have capacity to study for 6-8 weeks to try and bring it above 30?
