A function # is defined on positive integers as #(a) = #(a – 1) + 1. If the value of #(1) is 1, then what is the value of #(3) ?

A . 0
B. 1
C. 2
D. 3
E. 4

#(1) = 1
#(2) = #(1) + 1 = 1+1 = 2
#(3) = #(2) + 1 = 2 +1 = 3

#(1) is 1
so #(3) =(3-1)+1 ; 3
