Haas is killin' me, I'm so anxious. If the draft is coming up on 3/7, doesn't that mean that those of us who haven't been invited for interviews won't get a spot? Do they accept people without interviewing?

Same boat. I don't think they let anyone in without an interview, but it seemed like you can get interview invites for a few more days. I am not sleeping so well anymore these days. Really anxious about Yale SoM.

Same here. I read that they can wait-list without interview. Still I feel that if they haven't call us already there's probably little chance of The Consortium fellowship, right?

Unfortunately, that is likely the case. I don't believe they accept people without interviewing. Haas mad sure to interview Consortium applicants before the draft.

Does anyone know what happens if we don't receive a Consortium fellowship? Does that mean we are then considered for other merit based scholarships? I've been accepted to USC and Emory but they didn't mention anything about scholarships so just wondering how the process works.

If you applied via Consortium but did not receive a fellowship, you are considered for the membership, which from what I understand is similar in terms of benefits (minus the title "fellow" of course). As far as scholarships go (outside of Consortium) it is my understanding that the school would have told you the day of acceptance through the phone or email acceptance if you were offered a merit based scholarship. Go back and check your acceptance letter from USC and Emory and you'll know!

I think that depends on the school. Some of them are quiet about merit based scholarships until after the fellowship draft. Generally you can expect to be considered for some type of aid, but the amount of information they give you about it before or after the draft depends on the school.

Does Yale SOM call admitted applicants on the 7th?

Take this with a grain of salt as I was rejected by Yale, but I don't think all schools call on draft day. Draft day has typically been on the 2nd Tuesday of March, but schools make calls a few days after draft day according to last year's Clear Admit feed. Also one of my emails from Yale said that all Consortium applicants will hear back by March 9th.

Anyway, I can't believe the wait is almost over. I may have to block this site and Clear Admit this week to stay focused at work.

Hey guys,
I did a bit of research from last year's draft and if it's any indication of what will happen this year here is what I found:

The draft was on a Tuesday (similar to ours tomorrow), it started in the morning and ran through the end of the day (I think it ended at around 4pm last year). No schools made any calls before the draft. The afternoon after the draft Last year, one school (Tepper) began calling applicants that were awarded the fellowship THAT very Tuesday afternoon at around 5pm. A few other schools including Darden, Yale, Ross, and Tuck (plus others I think) made the calls the Wed and Thursday after the draft informing those that were selected for fellowship. However, SOME schools including UCLA and McCombs waited to make calls until a week after the draft (and in UCLA's case specifically, some were informed about admission + fellowship up to 2-3 weeks after the draft). So don't freak out if you don't get a call tomorrow afternoon.

Other notes:

1. If you are not awarded a fellowship, the school will NOT call you to tell you about admission until the rest of applicants find out (see respective program's website for exact date). You will have to wait even though they KNOW if you are admitted or not as of today.

2. if you are not awarded fellowship, you must wait until ALL of the schools make an admission decision before the consortium awards you membership (which carries most benefits less the fellow title).

I hope that answers a few questions that you all may have. If you have other questions let me know and I can try to answer based on my Sunday afternoon consortium research project LOL. Good luck tomorrow everybody.

Any idea how many fellowships schools award in a given year? How many or what percentage of the students accepted into schools get the fellowship as well?

I believe around 375 fellowships per year across all consortium schools. Using rough numbers I believe it goes something close to this (as of a couple of years ago these numbers were very close to actuals). 1000 applicants or so per year, around 600 or so are admitted to at least 1 school, and around 375 fellowships are awarded per year. So that translates to around 37.5% of applicants receive the fellowship, and around ~60% of ADMITTED consortium applicants receive the fellowship (this is probably the more meaningful statistic).

Yep, last year they gave out 387 fellowships out of the 707 applicants (54.6%) that were accepted to at least one school. 1131 total applicants for 2016 enrollment (class of 2018) . Fellowship rate was 34.2% for class of 2018 when you include those that weren't admitted to at least one school

Hmm I don't recall. If you're really curious it's easy to look up what was reported last year. Go to clear admit MBA livewire, filter for Kelley and for "accepted status", and go back to March 8, 2016 and start reading. Shouldn't take you more than 10 min to go through the data points to see when consortium applicants started finding out. If you go through the exercise, be sure to post your findings for others who will be curious :)
