It was said by somebody that they have ~200 people on waitlist, they do not rank those WLs though.

FROM Booth Admissions Blog: Attend a Booth Student-Hosted Event

It’s that of the year, again! The autumn quarter is over and Booth students have completed their finals.  All the students are eagerly discussing their winter break plans, whether they will be participating in the Booth ski trip, travelling the globe, networking on industry treks, or taking a long overdue visit home.

Wherever they may be during the winter break, many stude
nts will be hosting informal gatherings throughout the globe for prospective students.  At these student-hosted events, you’ll have the unique opportunity to engage with current students in a relaxed and informal environment. Student-hosted events are a great way to learn more about the Booth community and student experience from those who know it best.

Please visit our website to RSVP for a Student-Hosted event in your city. Join Booth students to hear unique perspectives about navigating the MBA application process, Booth’s uniquely flexible curriculum, recruiting stories, the social network, as well as experiential and leadership opportunities.

Wherever our student’s travels may take them, we hope they bring their experiences to a city near you!

Best,

Kelsey

FROM The Booth Experience: The (Pay it Forward) force is strong with this one
Everyone has different priorities going into an MBA program. One of mine was to attend a school with a strong community – one that was active not only in the program, but also remained engaged long after graduating. Booth may not seem like the poster child for community at first glance. It’s not widely known that … Continue reading The (Pay it Forward) force is strong with this one →

FROM The Booth Experience: To Booth and Beyond: the community outside of Booth
Booth is an amazing place to be and I love being a part of this community. That being said, I am somewhat the UChicago expert on the Booth Experience Team, having gone to the University of Chicago for undergrad AND having been a facilitator this year for the Kapnick Leadership Initiative at the University of … Continue reading To Booth and Beyond: the community outside of Booth →

I was wondering if I have to officially report my TOEFL score before admission ? Or is self reporting enough for application review purpose ?

FROM Booth Admissions Blog: Connect with Booth Global Student Ambassadors

By Giuliana Reis, Class of 2016

Global Booth Ambassador

Among the many things that I love about Booth, the pay-it-forward culture and the diversity of the student body are most important to me.

One of the great ways students get involved in paying it forward to prospective MBA students is to volunteer their time and insight as a Regional or Country Captain - student ambassadors whose focus in on building relationships with prospective students and alumni in various regions and countries throughout the world. Last year I served as one of the Country Captains for Brazil and it was an amazing experience! I was able to not only show the love for my country, but to help my fellow Brazilians learn about Chicago Booth and introduce them to others in my network. This year as a Global Booth Ambassador for the Office of Admissions I help the Captains in their volunteer efforts.

If you’re considering an MBA, I can’t encourage you to reach out to the Captains enough! They would love to help you and answer your questions about the MBA and Booth experience.

Before Booth, I worked in Investment Banking and founded a carpooling start-up, Tripda, which is currently running in 13 countries. After I graduate in June, I will be working with BRF (one of the world's largest food companies) in Dubai in a Business Development role.  If you feel I can help answer any questions you may have, I hope you will reach out to me by commenting below.

Best of luck with your Round Two applications! If you want to meet Boothies in person, consider joining us at a Booth Student- Hosted Event in your city, happening now!

All the best,

Giuliana

Hi, R2 applicant here.

Being an early career applicant (less than 2 years of work experience), what do you think would be a good place to explain why I want an MBA now that too from Booth - in the optional essay ( in a very direct manner) or in the required essay ( in a more subtle and indirect manner ).
Thanks in advance.

Are we required to submit the GMAT score at the time of application (for full time MBA). I was reading through the FAQs of EMBA and it stated we can submit GMAT score during application process.

Secondly, what will be the difference between the admission criteria for MBA and EMBA?

FROM The Booth Experience: Prepare to be Transformed
When I accessed the Booth admitted student website for the first time, I read “Prepare to be transformed.” I thought, “What an overstatement.” I was so wrong. LEAD was the first step in transforming my leadership skills; I gained a great deal of self-awareness and a toolkit to have top of mind. I had many … Continue reading Prepare to be Transformed →

Hi, R2 applicant here. Apparently one if me refree is out on holidays and might not be able to give his recommendations by Jan 5th. Should I mail the admission committee and ask if that date can be extended?

Hi everyone,

I have a unique situation regarding my employer history and need your suggestions. I work at an investment bank (say XYZ Bank)for last 5+ yrs. 3yrs back I had an intra-company transfer within the same office location (infact same office floor) from one division to another (It also led to change in entity say, XYZ India services Ltd. to XYZ Structured services Ltd.). In such a case do you advise I list two different employers within the application form or is it safe to simply say 'XYZ Bank' and employed for last 5+yrs. In the event I mention 2 different employers I also need to mention reason of leaving, which am not so sure what to mention as it was simply a merging of two roles (and not an opted switch).

Do they cover these aspects in their verification checks. Does it really matter how do I show the employer history?

Kindly advise

Apologies, if I made the whole scenario confusing.
