Happy Friday, Darden crew. I walked out of my interview about 30 minutes ago and here's how it went down:

Interviewer: 2nd year student

Context: The only thing he knew about me was my name. I attempted to hand him a resume after he told me this, and he politely declined.

Questions: "Take 20-25 minutes and tell me about yourself from the very beginning. I want to understand who you are as a person." ... "After that we'll have about 15 to 20 minutes for you to ask me questions"

Overall Impression: Informal, conversational, and it truly felt like the interviewer was interested in hearing my story. Frankly, I have gotten extremely good impressions from both the class audit and the interview process.

Best of luck to those who have yet to interview!

So glad to hear of your positive experience. I had the exact same experience sans attempting to hand my interviewer my CV. Best of luck as we approach mid March!

I got the exact same vibe at my interview yesterday. Very friendly and conversational. I even got a personal reply to my follow up thank you note that referenced something specific from our conversation (whereas a lot of interviewers from other schools have just shot a quick thank you back, or neglected to respond altogether). The whole day only made me fall more in love with Darden.

Good luck to everyone who still has to interview!

I pretty much have lost hope with this one. Time to concentrate on the rest and Round 3.

Good luck to everyone who's in the admission process for Round 2. Having just accepted my offer with Darden, I wanted to reach out to let you know that anyone who has questions/wants help with the next steps in their application, please message me. I felt that Darden was one of my better applications and I got so much help from these boards, I'm hoping to give some help back.

Any idea if Darden has rolled out invites to Indians in the past 2-3 days?
Also, any senior from last year who could shed some light on last year rollout trends for R2 (Indians) specifically!
TIA

Did anyone not invited to interview email the adcom asking if anything is missing from the application that is preventing them from making a decision on the interview?

I am thinking of writing to them... Happened to me for another school. After the email they mentioned they are in the process and within 2-3days I had an interview invite from them. Not saying that sending the email got me an interview invite, but I think might be good to check in with them? I dont know....

I have just got my interview with a 2nd year student and got the same feeling as you guys. The conversation ran smoothly and I can feel his good will during the talk. His answers to all of my questions were smart but sincere at the same time. Somehow the interview really did make me feel like a part of Darden.

As excruciating as the wait is, I don't think emailing the admissions team would help your application. The adcom team is busy and they most likely won't respond. If your application was received, they're vetting it and will invite you if interested. I would suggest just keep staying busy to get your mind off the uncontrollables.

Good lucK!

Can you share the questions with us?

The only real questions I got was 'tell me about yourself.' The interview was completely blind, no resume or anything, so you get to really frame the narrative. She asked more specific follow-up questions based on my background and what I was telling her. There was lots of time to ask my own questions as well. Be ready to steer the conversation -- if there's something on your resume you really want to focus on, make sure you bring it up since they won't ask about it. Then relax and have a good time! It was my favorite interview experience so far.

I have some questions as follows:
1, Tell me about yourself
2, Why Darden
3, Tell me what mentorship means to you and a time when you showed that
4, Tell me about a time when you offered a new idea and got disagreement from other.
5, What is your weakness and how do you improve yourself?
6, Your hobbies

Hope it helps :)
