Just found a typo in the resume I submitted to each program. Spent like 10 to 15 hours crafting and editing my resume and yet still managed a typo...

....

It's not funny how we can't see those spelling errors, although they are right there in our faces.

I have a buddy who still got an interview at HBS with a typo on his resume. I do not think it will make or break your candidacy.

Have any of you been reached out to by a current first year student? Out of the blue a student from a club (marketing, PE, etc.) reached out to me and offered to share his thought process on his/her decision to attend Kellogg. He reached out because he had similar pre-MBA experience to mine and wanted to share his rationale.

I'm wondering if (a) I should view this as a positive sign (b) this is normal and many people have been reached out to.

any color would be really helpful

***forgot to mention that i already had an interview and am waiting for the decision in a couple of weeks***

I am in the mid-Atlantic U.S. I currently work in an area of finance (IB, VC, PE, etc.). I am trying to be vague...

I think there's talk on this topic in the last couple of pages. Have a look.
Some other folks had students reach out as well.. general consensus was that it may not mean much.

Edit: I may have been mistaken. I think that was a Ross thread.

Dont read too much into it. Last couple of years, Kellogg has tried to be a bit more active in the application process and all these are many different ways Kellogg wants to 'help/guide' you in not only in your applications but also in deciding between multiple admits.

That being said, try to be a good listener in all these 'touchpoints' and leverage information you get from one into your subsequent conversations.

Good luck.

It was the Ross thread. I was going to comment and say that although this hasnt happened to me for Kellogg it did happen to me with Ross but it was not a big deal at all.

after some google'ing, I found a Kellogg Events page that listed the dinners in Chicago, Dallas, and Houston as "Early Yield Dinners". Do you think that means anything?

Yep. I found it here. Anyone can register, so I don't know what it means...

Considering that it doesn't come up on the regular list of events, I bet that it isn't suppose to be available for anyone to register.

I didn't sign up, and I don't think anyone who wasn't explicitly invited should. I also don't think that this would mean much, if anything, even if you were invited. Applicants don't find out early as a general rule, and I highly doubt that any school would throw an event for accepted students before they were officially accepted.

I doubt they would tell anyone at the dinner that they got in, but I just find it interesting that it is labeled like that somewhere in the Kellogg system. It seems like a good sign for those who were invited. It will also be very telling how many people are at each of these.

From the email I got about the event (important to note that this was for a city that isn't mentioned on the page, and in order to register we replied to the email), it's on the 30th as well, and they explicitly state that the invite is nontransferable. I also think that it was only for those who applied R1.

Likely this means nothing, and we all need hobbies.

Haha... Amen to that! This is an incredibly long two weeks we have left.

Interestingly enough (also probably means nothing), they have taken off any mention of “early yield dinners” on the website that had it before. I guess they read this thing?
