lol let's be real guys and gals. the fact that these "early yield dinners" were removed means they have some sort of significance. Let's not beat around the bush

I feel like it is likely good news for those that were invited but not necessarily bad news for those that weren't. It seems like they were in select cities and some were industry focused. My two cents is that it may be to convert candidates that they really want who may chose to go elsewhere.

Agreed. Kellogg likes to apply a personal touch to convince really competitive candidates to choose Kellogg over other big four schools they might have applied to. So considering how limited the pools of invites were, I think it's a way too woo those specific candidates, rather than a dinner for all accepted applicants.

Who knows

My approach to anything related to the MBA application process between interview and decision. Trying to decipher this stuff will just drive you mad.

I wish I was as strong as you, but to be perfectly honest, these last couple weeks have been driving me nuts. I guess it's because the difference between a call or no call on December 13th will have such a major effect on my life in the near-term. Trying to read into signs is my way of trying to prepare myself for whatever answer I will get in two weeks.

It's a bit sad to not receive one of those invites since I'm in one of the largest cities in America and sibling of a recent graduate, but I am in a non-traditional industry so I am comforting myself with that last part.

I remember how nerve-wracking The Wait was, so if it makes anyone out there feel any better, Kellogg is trying several different tactics this year to provide a more personalized touch because they have realized that since they interview ALL applicants, for some who interview early, if may feel like they've gone into a black hole for months afterward.

While I certainly don't think it's a bad sign if someone was invited to a dinner -- or, like some of my clients, emailed by a current student in their same field -- that does NOT mean that those who haven't heard anything are headed for the ding pile in any way, shape or form.

So do not lose hope! I think they are just experimenting, but I also think it's causing a lot of unnecessary misery among applicants, so I hope they read these boards and adjust accordingly in the future! : )

Best of luck to everyone!

Appreciate the color. Makes sense.

How about those of us who were invited to dinners or reached out by current students? While of course they can't ever say that those who attend or are reached out to are automatically admitted, it's only natural for us to believe that we should view this as a good sign. Would love your thoughts on this.

I attended one of the events this week. It was just an informal event with alumni - about 15 students and 4 alumni. We did introductions and then everyone just had conversations with the people sitting around them during the meal. Lasted a couple of hours. No idea if it was evaluative or not...

The one I went to actually had people who hadn’t applied yet. I wouldn’t read into this.

Does Kellogg review applications without issuing waiver? The context here is - I was invited for an alumni interview, but couldn’t work out due to conflicting travel schedules. I requested a reschedule but didn’t hear back from Kellogg for about 3 weeks. Finally they scheduled an adcomm interview. No waiver was issued in between but I’m wondering if they reviewed my application in that interval.

Hey, if i selected na On-campus interview should I still wait for na invite? The language on the website seems to indicate that you should be able to schedule an interview as soon as your application is complete (GMAT, Recomendations, GMAT, Video Essay,Transcript)

"On-campus interviews may be scheduled online through the applicant status page after you submit a completed application. Interview slots are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Schedule your interview as soon as possible to secure your desired date. Interviews are conducted Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and select Saturdays. On-campus interviews typically last 30-45 minutes."

Do you see a place to schedule online through your applicant status page? If so then I'd suggest you go ahead and schedule. Otherwise you could probably just call them up and say that you need to schedule an on-campus interview but don't seem to have access via your status page.
