Mudit and I have received interview calls from Stern about a month back. "Under review" doesn't look like a ding to me, but more likely a "waitlist" as the status for your application has not been declared yet.

I submitted on 14th Sept, still my app status states under review. For what it's worth, my friend applied with me but got a rejection mail last week. So its probable that you and me would be waitlisted.

Just got an interview an Im R1 applicant. There's only one interview slot available in 3 days. Flights would be incredibly expensive and I can't leave work or family on that short notice so I'm trying to do a virtual interview. Anyone know someone from US doing virtual interview and got in?

I live west coast. My virtual interview request was approved two weeks ago. However, virtual interview slots are limited. The first available slot when I scheduled it was mid Jan.

suansuan the best bit is that they are available. Prior to applying, I wrote to the AdCom to reconfirm just in case because travelling to NYC for an interview will not be logistically and financially possible for me.

Something that happened a little while ago.

NYU Admissions' email goes to the Promotions folder by default. As I opened my email just now and saw that I have an email from NYU Admissions, for a minute my breath was stuck because I was very nervous. Getting it all together, I switch tabs and it was one of their promotional email.

Kinda facepalm moment.
