I was in similar situation in R2 and was able to get interview call in R3. I did below, may be useful to you (not sure if it works for others though)
1) I am serious about Judge so i visited college with my wife and met adcom to discuss more about the program etc. To me this showed some seriousness to adcom as i visited with partner not only to see the college but also the place
2) I sent additional letter stating why they should select me and what i can bring to the class showing my achievements. This also includes what else i am doing between application and before starting mba, to get most out of mba and ready to secure next level job.
3) i reached out to current class ,met alumni and also mentioned about them during adcom meeting. Infact one guy was very helpful and sent email to adcom offering to clear any doubts they have on my profile since we both are from same industry.
4) I didnt do this but yeah you can submit additional reco especially with strengths you were not able to show in first reco.
