I got 5 in IR with 44% questions right. So, it seems for IR also the scoring is dependent on the difficulty level of the questions. So people can get different scores for answering same no of questions right.

Certainly himpuju I strategise in this part of the test. I solve only 6-8 questions in the IR section whatever I can manage in 20-22 minutes and then I sit idle meditating for 10 minutes to attack the major part of the test. I usually skip Multi Source Reasoning as that eats my brain. I can sense that since I always skip it and get a low score with more # of questions correct they(MSR questions) must have a high weight age attached to them :idea:

Here is an example of an ESR from the time I scored 46/51 (99%) on Verbal. Notice how the difficulty level of my incorrectly answered question in the 2nd quarter of the test is literally "off the charts."

Thanks for sharing this! Do you happen to have the difficulty chart for Verbal as well? :)

Hey I think my post already had that. I think it was missing the quant difficulty chart. Have added that.

Hello, I would just like to add my ESR. I scored a 780 overall with a 51Q and 48V. I had not originally planned on ordering it considering my score, but felt it may be useful data for those who are wanting to know what it takes to receive a high score. Plus, I was quite curious!

best,

Hi guys. This is my ESR. I ordered it because Verbal section is lower than any CAT I've been doing.
More details here: gmat-fail-analysis-224330.html

Your help in figuring out what happened is much appreciated.

I suggest that you download the Newer version of ESR for even the FIRST GMAT taken in Sep-2015. It will help Experts to analyse all three attempts. Please re-upload the updated ESR.

With you the case is that you aren't able to solve medium-high level Verbal questions at all. I recommend that you get yourself conditioned working on 650-750 level problems under timed conditions.

To some extent you're true. But I scored up to 700 consistently in the EP1 and EP2. The reason is they are of limited sample of questions. But on the test day the sample of questions is huge and with a single incorrect answer, the algorithm won't let me try medium to hard questions. Does that make sense?

I want to give another attempt so I want an efficient strategy.

Hey ,

Thanks . I will surely write a debrief just been to stuck up with applications.

Thanks for the breakup , by the way I thought quant had 37 and verbal 41 questions.
Is it something to do with the experimental questions ?

Exam pack 2 710 and 700

Exam pack 1 710 and 760 ( 3-4 seen questions I do not how)

Reset of default exam pack 1 day before the exam : 770 ( but I saw few questions already seen and gave the exam by pausing around and chilling throughout the day so not really significant).

Here is the Number of experimental questions divided in each of the 4 sets out of total questions in each section:

Quant-> 2/9 | 2/9 | 2/9 | 3/10 -------> 9/37

Verbal-> 2/10 | 3/10 | 3/10 | 3/11 -------> 11/41

Hence your score is based on 28 questions in Quant and 30 questions in verbal. In the exam we never know which question is experimental.
