Hi maverickoder,

Thanks for sharing your profile.

You have a good diverse profile. The academics are great and the work achievement seems good. Age is on your side.

The extra curricular and GMAT score are "just good enough".

The candidates from Oil and Gas PSUs are applying in large numbers, hence competition in your space is high.

To get through ISB with 680 GMAT, you will need to concentrate on interview preparations. Your interview needs to be absolute top class to get through, apart from preparing above average applications to compensate GMAT.

Hope it helped.

Hi,

Can anyone help me if HBX CORe will really help me in offsetting my low GPA (Electrical Engineering - 7.28/10)? I had two backlogs (both cleared before graduating) due to health issues and my GPA is an upward trend. Apart from a high GMAT (720) will HBX CORe or any other Extension School course help me in improving my profile?

PS: I am 2019 Engineering grad working in a top consulting firm with an impressive track record.

Hello raipriyadarshi

Work profile shows potential and the recent extracurricular are interesting (will definitely add brownie points). The university/school level activities look like they won't add much weight. The GRE also seems slightly below comfort level, but if you can pair your past experience with a realistic set of goals, you may stand a decent shot.
Curious to know your goals and clarity of thought here.

Hello Sim1234567

Very interesting profile. Work ex (industry as well as role) and extracurricular are unique and diverse. That added with a strong GMAT score make you a contender that ISB would surely want to know more about (AKA good shot at getting an interview invite).
While your long term goals seem organic and realistic, the whole thing will boil down to you presenting (in essays) and talking (in interviews) about your short terms goal and fit with ISB. If this is done well, you have a strong chance at getting an admit.

Hello RookieDaCookie

A sorted profile with reasonable goals (PM is one of the best targets post MBA), decent GMAT/past scores and some B-School favorites in extracurriculars.
Don't see any evident weakness in your profile. Do a decent job on your essays and you should expect an interview invite.

Very strong profile indeed. GMAT, work ex (CA helps), past scores, brand on the CV, and extracurricular all show you as an achiever even in bullet points.
Pretty sure in the application and essays this should come out even better.
