Finally, I have found the right forum! So far, I had little luck in finding good info about LDPs and rotational programs.

I have two questions:
1. Which Auto Manufacturers regularly recruit for LDPs from B schools and in what numbers? I know that GM does but what about others like Ford,Nissan etc.
2. Being an International student, what are my chances of getting into an LDP of any industry?

I work for an Indian automobile manufacturer and have experience in both sales and service.Post MBA, I would like to get into a rotational program and then possibly do marketing.

You have two things working against you: LDPs don't like to hire internationals because the H1B lottery can derail the process. Also, at least Ford and GM seem especially uninterested in foreign students and are unwilling to sponsor.

1. Automotive LDP: GM, Ford, Nissan, and Toyota
2. Nissan is the only one of those that sponsors international students.

In general, it's harder to find jobs outside of tech, consulting, and finance in the US. LDP is not more difficult for international students than general management, marketing, etc.

You should! Actually, according to our data at www.transparentmba.com, these LDPs have among the highest "effective hourly wages" that we see in our entire dataset.

Most of these roles are listed under their respective company on our site, but you can also dive into "corporate strategy" as a function - some of these roles tend to be LDPs.

There is a lot of consensus on the top finance and consulting gigs. I'm not interested in those, but rather in Leadership Development Programs. What are some of the best LDPs out there? What benefits do these LDPs offer to its graduates?

Hi,
could you explain in more detail what you're interested in?

Great thread, can't believe I missed it all these days!

Does anyone have any info on LDPs in Europe? Especially in the Energy sector?

I asked this question in Insead forum and got feedback about BP program
here's the link for anyone interested
http://www.bp.com/en/global/bp-careers/ ... ramme.html

Here is another link for energy Ldps
http://www.mba-exchange.com/candidates/ ... 8-session-

I am shooting for an LDP in energy post MBA
If anyone has personal experience going through one of these programs, it would be great to hear your story and get feedback!

Cheers,
Harsha

I heard a lot of good comments about Center for Creative Leadership. It is a five day program created to help middle to senior level managers lead in the "middle zone". Managing in the "middle zone" is about connecting strategy to the everyday work.
The program provides a highly personal experience that is tailored to help each leader get the most out of sessions by providing a safe environment for learning and skill practice. So may be find some information on their website. Or find some opinions about them. Especially good to read opinions of graduates.

I partially agree with you, but it is possible to develop your skills. As I understand the leader is somebody the most interested in the certain activity, whether you gather your friends for a barbecue party or start a new business. The most frightening thing to me is to be indifferent to anything. I see such people every day, and that's my main motivator not to be passive

What are the chances of international students landing a leadership development program gig post their MBAs in the USA? I have just over 5 years of experience in Retail and E-commerce (Category & Operations Management + Business Development) in India, and I was wondering if that would be a factor (positive or negative) while pursuing a spot in Amazon's RLDP or Pathways Operations Management Program or even say L'Oreal's Management Development Program.

Any insight on this would be really helpful!

Landing in "normal" corporate jobs in the USA is becoming more and more difficult in the current US political climate. The specific LDP usually states whether or not they will sponsor.

A word of caution on the "development programs". Recently, I've noticed a trend of company using the "rotational/leadership" program as a way to funnel highly qualified candidates into roles that are otherwise unattractive (difficult to fill). Amazon's Pathway program may be the poster-child of this trend. It's great if you are looking to getting the field of operations/logistics post MBA. However, typical top tier MBA grads are not looking for the high pressure, long hour, poor working condition, low paying opportunities, and limited career path that the Pathway Program would place them into (you will be managing hourly workers in one of Amazon's fulfillment center).

you have the beginning pay spot on. a portion of the LDPs accompanies quite great livens over the compensation also. the standard yearly raise is 4-8% barring the execution based reward. when you get advanced, you get a compensation pump also (since advancements are work in, you can anticipate that your pay will go up quicker than 4-8%). it's difficult to measure the compensation 5 years out, however, I would put it at around 170-220K
