Hi all!
Trying to decide and it's coming down to the wire so I figured I'll crowd source opinions. I'm deciding between a full-ride at Anderson vs. about a 50% scholarship at Kellogg. Overall cost differential is probably going to be around $80K.
My goal is to:
- Stay in LA: UCLA has the clear advantage here, much stronger network + the connections I make in the program will go a long way as most of Anderson students also stay on the West Coast (~45% took jobs in LA vs. 3% from Kellogg)
- Go into management consulting: Kellogg is a definite feeder into MBB. HOWEVER, my understanding is that the LA offices are much smaller and therefore, it's less of a consideration as opposed to if I were recruiting for, e.g. Chicago which would take many more people from Kellogg and Booth.
- My back up plan is likely to do some kind of LDP, my preferred industries are media/entertainment and potentially tech.
There is obviously also the consideration of 'brand name' - but to be honest I am not sure how much more Kellogg's prestige will matter in the long-run. I have not heard of people being turned down for roles just because they went to a T15 vs. M7 but I'm curious to know what others think.
