Thanks in advance ??
Hi Sanya,
Let me provide some inputs from my end to help you strategize your preparation. First of all, I would say that you're not late in starting your preparation if you follow a
well-defined study plan that is personalized on basis of your learning style, learning pace and time available to study. The idea should be first create a plan that has clear deadlines for each stage of learning and then
regularly assess yourself every week to ensure that you don't have any gaps in your preparation. The sooner you work on your gaps the lesser will be effort required while fine-tuning towards the end.
In fact, these are some of the common problems that most working professionals face. I would recommend spending time on the options you're considering and evaluating them on the following parameters:
1. Does it offer a Personalized Study Plan that adapts every week on basis of your progress, time available and pace of learning? Don't just settle for static plans that do not adapt as things change as you progress and so should your plan.
2. The course should have very detailed solutions that follow the same strategy. This is a very important factor because concepts are taught well by most courses but it is the application of concepts that people struggle with. Make sure you look at the study material provided to see the consistency in the approach and not just take a call on basis of a demo session as in most cases the study material speaks a different language.
3. Check whether there is an option of getting real-time improvement modules at regular intervals. It is fairly common for students to move forward to advanced topics without realizing that they have substantial gaps in their understanding of basic concepts. If you move ahead with gaps, it will hinder your learning moving forward.
4. Does the course provide you a dedicated mentor who knows the GMAT inside out? Don't just settle for someone who just gives you generic advice. Look for someone who provides a dedicated mentor whom you can contact directly throughout your prep journey.
5. Lastly, ensure that the course has enough questions that are fresh and GMAT styled. It is important the course also provides you clear analytics on them
I understand that you want to start soon, but I would still say that you should spend time on researching the right options by taking a free trial. Another week spent on research at this stage can actually save you a lot of time and effort later on in your preparation. Add another course to your research list -
GMATWhiz. Evaluate it from the perspective of the above pointers along with the other things you're considering.
Unfortunately, another important factor that you should take into account is the current scenario because of Coronavirus outbreak. Choose an option that would minimize disruption for you.
