Although Clancy is a well-respected neurologist, his recent critique in the American Neurology Review of Holmes's new popular book of strange but true neurological cases is unjustified. Holmes describes a number of cases of people who lose the ability to speak normally and can only communicate through song. Clancy critiques Holmes' approach as "voyeuristic" and "patronizing," but it is the same approach Holmes applied in all his previous best-selling books, and this latest book is on track to become the top seller of them all.
The argument's reasoning is most open to criticism on the grounds that it:

Good question. Key here is to correctly identify the reasoning presented by the argument.
The argument concludes that Clancy's critique of Holmes' approach used in a book is unjustified because Holmes' is a best selling author and used the same approach in many best selling books.
Clearly the assumption here is if the book is popular any approach is correct.
Ans B it is!
Also, it would be an assumption question rather than a weaken.

Conclusion : Clancy's critique that Holmes's approach in his new book is voyeuristic and patronizing is unjustified.
Premise : Holmes has used the same approach in his older books as that in his current book and his current book is on its way to become a top seller. ie. Book is popular.
Assumption that fills the logical gap : It is unjustified to call the approach in a popular book voyeuristic and patronizing.
Of the answer choices given I would say that B is the best option. But IMHO the same answer choice in another set of options could well be wrong. We can see such answer choices especially in RC problems where different parts of the passage are put together to confuse the reader. The argument does not talk about whether the approach used by the author is justifiable or not. It only speaks of whether the critique of the book is justifiable or not. For me a better answer choice would have been something similar to the assumption given above.
