I just got rejected from Columbia with a 710 and 3.4 GPA. No interview. The class profiles are meaningless.

Sorry to hear but a lot more to the application, not to mention you are below the mean on both the GMAT and GPA and your Quant score is the 59th percentile..

I also got the rejection today itself with similar profile. Though I applied for Columbia in order to try my luck and didn't have many hopes. Keeping my fingers crossed for others :|

Guys, I wouldn't give up on CBS. I got rejected last year with 710 GMAT and 3.1 GPA. This year I got in in ED by having a 760 GMAT and a High Honors on HBX CORe program.

Congratulation... I think we need to be in higher percentile of GMAT to get into CBS. If nothing pans out then writing the GMAT again 8-)

The average GMAT is 717. The average gpa is 3.5. However the middle 80% range from 680-760 and 3.1-3.8. I work in finance at a BB. The quant score of 45 is perfectly fine for these schools. The percentiles drop off dramatically as you go down the raw score tiers. I also know a girl who got rejected with a 740 and a 3.5 for what it's worth.

Looks like a bunch of dings went out via LiveWire today. I applied on Jan 6th, no status update (ding or interview invite). Anyone in the same boat?

Again, gmat and gpa check off the academic bucket so not sure why you keep quoting scores to validate your ding. Both your scores were below the mean, you work in finance, i'm assuming you're from NYC and you applied late to a school that does rolling admissions. Not trying to come across like a dickhead but kids with way better stats in Finance got dinged a lot earlier in the process. Were you IB or ops and how long have you been out of UG? Columbia seems to skew pretty old.

Any January 6th submissions still waiting for a reply? I think the 4-6 week suggested timeframe is coming up really soon...
