On the bright side, Waitlist is better than a rejection so all is not lost! Somewhere on GMATClub a person did the research and posted WL conversion rates for the top schools. You could also look up the WL conversion using the decision tracker filter. With the 740 GMAT and tech profile as you mentioned, you are likely to be at the front of the line for the WL so I wouldn't lose hope. B-school competition for Indian candidates is particularly fierce.

True. While it is possible that there can be an admit, for me it is as good as ding because it is highly improbable that one gets scholarship/fellowship for an admit from wait list.

Anyway, I agree that it is just part and parcel of our journey and I'm happy that I have a couple admits.

Actually, there was someone in the Tepper whatsapp group who was able to negotiate scholarships off the WL. It's definitely harder, but keep in mind Tepper's post MBA pay is quite high for a school that isn't M7. Median salary in 2019 was $126k which rivals the best MBA programs, and the high pay despite the non T10 ranking is due to the school's strong connection to the tech industry, with roughly 1/3 of the class going into tech.

Tepper is my safety school. Two days ago, I received an EY survey "on behave of a top ranked business school" asking about the factors I consider when choosing business programs, in which I didn't put Tepper as my 1st or 2nd choice, because it promised to be confidential, although they did ask for the email address. Two days later I'm waitlisted by Tepper and asked to submit an application to be on the priority waitlist. Suspicious? [#permalink]
