Hey guys -
couple things..
Has anyone had a meet and greet with someone from the Hermes Society? Through a friend at CBS I am meeting someone in my industry this saturday.. Descriptions on their site read they work closely with admissions. Any idea if they relay feedback from these types of things? Almost like a screening process before a ding/interview? Any thoughts or insights at all are much appreciated.
2) Too much time digging on last years forum, looks like final large batch of releases came at the end of this week last year.. obviously some outliers but wanted to share that.
When I did a class visit at Columbia part of the day was Q&A with a Hermes Society member. I found him very helpful, not just for admissions related questions but for real, honest input about what the school was like. I actually used some of the information he told me to help answer the "how will you spend your time at Columbia" question. I think the student could be a valuable resource to gain insight into what Columbia has to offer, specifics about the culture, etc. that would be great to have for an eventual interview.
I'm not sure if they are part of the process or not. I know the reason we include a photo with our application is so that different members of the admissions committee can jog their memory if they've met us, what they thought, etc. Not sure if they include Hermes Society members in this process or not, but I think it's a good idea to make a great impression on anyone you meet. You never know.
