Essays:

The Schulich application requires four essays in total:
a) One written essay
b) Two video essays
c) One timed writing sample
You also have the opportunity to write an optional essay if you so choose.

Essay #1 How will the Schulich MBA degree help you achieve your short and long-term career goals?
(please limit your answer to 350 words)

OPTIONAL Essay Is there any other information or area of concern in your academic or personal history
that you believe would be helpful to the Admissions Committee when considering your application?
(please limit your answer to 350 words)

Tips for the Video Essay and Timed Writing Sample

Before embarking on these application elements, you will need:
1. an uninterrupted 20 to 30 minutes
2. a stable webcam and proper keyboard
3. to be dressed in interview-appropriate clothing

Once you are set up, please use the unique link to record two video essays and to complete
a five-minute timed writing sample. Kindly note that these must be completed in one sitting, and
you only get one chance to record your answer to each question. We suggest that you review our
Application Tips, above, before getting started.

References

Please choose just two referees, or recommenders, whom you know from a professional, volunteer,
educational, or extracurricular setting.

General guidelines for choosing your referees:

• A referee is an individual who will complete and submit the reference form on your behalf on
time to meet the deadline in which you intend to apply.
• Referees are typically employers, supervisors, professors, or others who are able to comment
on your professional and educational goals.
• Referees should know you well and be able to attest to your past performance, potential, and
qualifications for business school.
• Referees cannot be relatives or friends. Schulich cannot offer advice on the suitability of your
referee – only you can decide who will best represent you.

For the Kira video essay, is it overkill to wear a suit? Should I just stick with a long sleeves and tie combo?

Thanks!

Hi EduSimplified I am already in that group since I was admitted for jan intake :)

Narenn sure. Always happy to help. Hit me up if someone has a particular query.

In general, I would say don't just use the same essay that you might have used for another school. Highlight 2-3 aspects of the Schulich MBA that interest you. Do state your goals (short-term and long-term. 3-4 sentences would do to explain them). Since it's 350 words, be sure to highlight your strengths from you current experience, what you expect to gain (beyond just the goals), what your goals are and how Schulich should help you get there and a nice conclusion to close the essay. It's just 350 words.

As for video essays, be relaxed and speak slowly. There's also a written component which is pretty simple. Don't focus on writing more just be sure that the question asked is addressed well even if you are able to write a few sentences. This component is only to see your communication skills.

Interviews are generally done via Skype. They are conducted to judge your fit mainly. Do research the program well and speak to Alumni. Have 2-3 good questions in mind to ask adcom. Lastly, dress professionally. There are going to be few bomber questions but that is just to see how you respond on feet. Take a few seconds and then answer (i know its easier said than done lol).

Good luck to all applicants !!

If you are an Indian candidate, then your application is not on rolling basis and will get reviewed post application deadline- i.e. 30th Nov. Hence the delay
