Has anyone from round 2 received a rejection email or been wait-listed (without being invited to interview) ?
You won't hear anything until the decision release date.

Than you! Did the admissions office confirm this or mention it somewhere?

That's how it happens every year. All decisions go out on decision day.

My interview was on the shorter side too (about 20 minutes) and I was accepted. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Good luck!

I'm still waiting as well. I emailed them asking if there was anything else that they needed, and they replied back that they're still processing apps, but who knows.

I just got done with my Anderson interview. One of the coolest interviewers ever. The usual suspect questions: walk me through your resume, what are your long-term and short-term goals, why do you want an MBA, your greatest achievement, a time you dealt with conflict with a co-worker. The rest was very conversational and the questions essentially flowed from the discussion. I really liked this interview style.

There were challenges with the Skype connection so, we first tried without video, then ended up just continuing with a phone call. In total, I would say the interview went on for just shy of 45 minutes.

All the best to everyone yet to interview.

Thanks! Good to know interviews are still going on, and that it doesn't sound like they're out there to grill us.

Best of luck on March 29th!

Hi Everyone,

I just came across this blog and I found this pretty helpful! I wanted to take advantage of this forum and ask something about the recommendation letter. I have two parts to this question:

1. Does it matter if I waive or not waive the right to see the recommendation letter? Wouldn't I always want to see what my managers wrote about me before they send it?
2. Is the recommendation letter free form? or do my managers get a guideline on the structure of the letter from the application system?

I appreciate it!

1. My personal choice, I wouldn't waive. But after few articles on GClub, I decided to waive as I didn't want to complicate things. Reasons other posts gave: AdCom needs to maintain the file separately (just in case you ask). AdCom may consider you to be a fussy (don't remember the exact word) student who wants to see everything. Maybe if you search thoroughly you can find that post.
2. There is a sample questions list your recommender would get on webpage.

What I did to get a feedback: I took my recommender for a lunch and informally asked him over the responses to few Qs. Obviously I wasn't asking Qs as though it were an interview but rather an informal chat.

1. Waive the right - It is always better to waive the right. You being able to see what managers wrote about you before they send it is probably the reason you should actually. If you don't waive the right, it is telling the college you don't feel comfortable or don't trust the recommendation until you see it. Going off this, it is therefore to your own benefit to find the best person to recommend you. If you have a good relationship with that person, there shouldn't anything to worry about (considering they accepted to write a recommendation for you in the first place).

2. Managers get a guideline on the structure of the letter from the application system most of the time. I have heard of cases where the letter can be free form, but I don't believe it is common. Most of the time there are questions to answer, character limits, and page limitations. The questions are fairly similar I would say and are usually centered on:
a) How long the person has known you and to what capacity.
b) Performance or personal qualities compared to those of other folks in your role.
c) I'm thinking there was a question on what constructive feedback a manager would give me on my work performance.
d) (other specific to school questions)
Helpful source: https://blog.accepted.com/2014/07/17/top ... questions/

Hope that helps.

It is recommended to waive your right to see the letter. You only get to see it after the process anyway and by waiving your right it adds legitimacy to the letter since it can theoretically be more honest. As mentioned above, the specific questions are listed online in various sources, though I could provide them to you if you would like as well.

Good luck!

Rather than being anxious about what's in your recommendation letter, I would suggest to sit with your evaluator and discuss in detail, get a thorough feedback and provide your own suggestions which would be helpful to admission committee.
It is tough to motivate your evaluators to go out of the way and write great letters since everyone keeps busy. But the best step is to provide some context/scenarios/situations where you demonstrated skills that are related to management studies.
