Congratulations on the interview. I visited the school in June. Assuming you're interviewing at the MBA campus - Whitney Avenue - campus is <10 minutes from the Amtrack station. I just hopped onto a cab right outside it and spent <20 USD. It was by the meter. Alternatively you could use Uber. Walking is fine too. Also, you can catch dinner at Cask Republic or even Chipotle. Everything is accessible and super close to the school (max 10 minute walk)
Hey guys! I'm interviewing tomorrow and headed to New Haven to stay at a hotel overnight this afternoon. I have a couple of questions I was hoping students who have interviewed already could shed some light on...
1. Has anyone stayed at the New Haven Hotel? If you have, where did you go for dinner in the area and how did you get to campus? If you got to campus by car, please let me know what car company you used if they were prompt and fairly priced. Otherwise, the walk is only 20 min so I might go with that option.
2. Assuming you took the amtrak, how did you get from the station to the hotel? I've read somewhere on GMAT Club that someone took a car from the station to their hotel and the 5 minute drive cost them $40 because the cab driver overcharged them; just want to avoid this sort of thing myself if I can! It looks like there are busy roads on this route so would prefer not to walk.
3. I am a bit nervous about the day of activities planned so was hoping someone could shed some light on whether most people arrive for the breakfast by 8:30am or trickle in before 11am. It's a 2.5 hour breakfast; seems like a long time to mingle and like convos could get awkward/feel forced. Also, are adcom at the breakfast mingling?
4. There's a break scheduled at 2pm, but I'm definitely going to have to pee before then. Sorry TMI! I don't want to interrupt the 11am-2pm presentations and they're scheduled back to back so wondering if there was time btw them in your experience.
Thank you guys in advance!
