Hi MDMBA2020,

If you know which Program(s) you plan to apply to, then you should be able to contact the Admissions Office(s) and ask any of these questions directly. Since you have this score locked up, you now have to proceed correctly and in a timely fashion. Remember that it takes time to assemble all of your application materials, work on your essays, 'craft' your application, etc., so it's important to be clear on the specific deadline(s) that you're on.

As everyone else has said, GMATPrep scores are very predictive and any third party test, while good for practice, is much less so. Still, the discrepancy is large enough that you may want to take the second free GMATPrep exam under realistic conditions to hone in on your true score.

I'd also recommend buying the two additional GMATPrep exams, and only then doing one retake of each (for a total of eight official CATs). I took four full GMATPreps before my exam - 650 for the first one early on, 680 (retake of first), followed by a 700, and a 710. I got a 700 on the GMAT (plan to retake). [For what it's worth, I took the free Veritas exam before any real studying and got a 690.] I think the real GMAT questions are worded in a way that closely reflect your ability.

///EDIT/// I may take VeritasPrep up on its offer of free CATs for official GMAT scores and let you know how close they are to each other.

I sure hope the GMATPrep tests are more like the score I will get. I completed 5 more Veritas tests and my score ranged from a 620-670. I plan to take the second GMATPrep test the day before test day under realistic conditions. We'll see what happens!

Sailing in the same boat.

Got a 750 in my GMATPREP 1

Veritas Prep 1 - 650
Veritas Prep 2 - 660
Veritas Prep 3 - 670
Veritas Prep 4 - 650.

Fingers crossed for the Actual exam.

Even though Veritas tests are tough, they are a a treasure chest of good questions.

P.S - I too got the tests free of cost as part of their ongoing fine-tuning. :-D

Also getting a score discrepancy between Veritas and GMAT Prep:

Before beginning Veritas course, took the GMAT Prep test #1: 610
Halfway through the course, took 1st Veritas test: 610 (disappointed that there was no improvement)
At end of course and after studying specific weakpoints, took GMAT Prep test #2: 680 (happy that I improved)
3 weeks after getting the 680, I've been continuing to study, and took the 2nd Veritas test today: 610 (frustrated again)

It also seems to me that the Veritas tests are harder...

Hi, I took the GMAT today after having taken 4 Veritas Practice Tests. Here are my results:

Nov 19: 650/76th Q: 41/45th V: 39/89th (did not take AWA/IR)
Nov 27: 660/79th Q: 42/47th V: 39/89th (did not take AWA/IR)
Jan 2: 680/84th Q: 45/59th V: 39/89th IR: 6 (did not write AWA)
Feb 5: 710/91st Q: 47/65th V: 40/91st IR: 5 (wrote AWA)

Feb 18: Real GMAT
760/99th Q: 47/65th V: 47/99th IR: 8 AWA: TBD

Veritas perfectly predicted my Q score but consistently underestimated my V and IR.

Perfect score. Congratulations. Which book do you use for your QMAT study?

I did the in-person Veritas class so I have about a dozen books from the course. I did also buy the GMAC official guide but I never used it.
