just a bad day I will say.

Relax, go on a vacation. COme back and take a reshot ...
and avoid mocks just before the day of the exam. It is a majorly exhausting examination. It will burn you out.

Hi Sivabalan17793 ,
On the basis of your practise test scores , it seems that you should have scored in early to mid 600s if you took your CATs in a realistic way.
Also, in my opinion any activity such as taking a CAT or cramming a bunch of material in the last 24 hours before the GMAT or any standardized Test is NOT a good idea .The before GMAT should be spent resting and relaxing . A poor performance on a practise test before the GMAT can shake one's confidence and add to stress.
Moreover , test day is a specific event and everything might not go as planned . So , don't get disheartened and start preparing for your next attempt .
Hope this helps!! :)

Hi Sivabalan17793,

I'm sorry to hear that Test Day didn't go as well as planned. When these types of score drops occur, the two likely "causes" involve either something that was unrealistic during practice or something that was surprising (or not accounted for) on Test Day. If you can answer a few questions, then we should be able to figure this out:

When you took your CATs:
1) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT each time (including the Essay and IR sections)?
2) Did you take them at home?
3) Did you take them at the same time of day as your Official GMAT?
4) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, skip sections, take longer breaks, etc.)?
5) Did you ever take a CAT more than once? Had you seen any of the questions BEFORE?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Guys,
After a long run, dedicated preparation of 6 months, ended up with an actual gmat score of 530. Terrible
my mock scores:
Princeton diagnostic: 590
Kaplan mock 1: 610
Kaplan mock 2: 600
Kaplan mock 3: 620
Kaplan mock 4: 670
GMAT Prep-1: 610
GMAT Prep-2: 660

Took GMAT prep 2 test , on a day before my actual gmat. But ended up with such a poor score of 530. Q45, V22
Kindly advice me what to do next guys... i am so depressed and dont know what to do..
Frustrated and thinking of dropping everything

Schools that i was thought of applying:
Great Lakes
NUS
NTU
ISB
IE Business school

Profile:
Indian Candidate (Since an Indian candidate, i prefer Great Lakes and ISB to any other schools. Indeed now i know that i am not capable of applying to any of these schools:(:(:)
10th- 90%
12th- 95%
B.E Mech: 94% (GPA = 4) (Best Outgoing student, Secretary in some clubs)
Work Experience: 30 months in Cognizant (Designation: Junior Business Analyst - Business Development)

Kindly help me.... Looking forward for your vaulabe info

Thanks!

Very Sad to see your score went drastically down in the actual GMAT. Since the score gap is more, I would suggest you to prepare for some more time and retake again.
If you keep yourself at your best during the exam, you will definitely reach magical figure 700.

All the best!!
