I went into the program aiming to get above a 700 and had heard from multiple friends that Manhattan GMAT was probably one of the best options given my goal. I really enjoyed how they sent you all of the materials along with a syllabus of 'homework' to do each week. I was very diligent, doing all of the required work as well as the recommended problems, so by the time the online class came around, there wasn't much for me to really learn. With the exception of a few discussions during class, all of the tips and concepts they were explaining I had already figured out during the week. This is not to say that I did not like the class: the syllabus they gave me and having the class to go to forced me to do a lot of the work to figure it out on my own, and if I did have questions they were extremely helpful either in class or via email. If I hadn't included the online course, I do not think I would have done nearly as well. I received a 750.

Highly recommend this package. MGMAT self study plus was very useful for me since it let me pace my gmat preparation in my own way as it provides the previously recorded sessions.

Each one is unique. I chose this product as I can pace my own prep schedule. I rushed through the 9-session course in a month or so(about 5 weeks) and spent another 5 weeks on focussed preparation and then gave my gmat. I was good in quants and really went for this prep course to focus on my verbal skills.

I was consistently getting 640-680 score in MGMAT practicve test. I was hoping to cross atleast 700. Luckily, I got 730 on the real gmat and i'm excited about it. I took gmat for the first time about 8 months ago and had scored 640.

Overall, I was very pleased with the quality of the MGMAT material, instructor, and class environment. I highly recommend the system and methodology of MGMAT as I found the review material and study guides to be very helpful.

I would like to focus on the couple areas of constructive criticism I would have for the program-- only because I think MGMAT did a great job. There honestly isn't much I would change, but if I had to, I'd make the following 2 recommendations:

1. Test Readiness: I felt amply prepared for all portions of the test. The few areas where I wish the class spent more time were on the FDPs, Number Properties, and Probabilities sections. I found these to be the problems most represented on the exam. I would have appreciated having some more refresher material for me to review closer to the date of the exam with key FDP and NP concepts. I realize that part of this criticism is my own inability to go out and find representative problems.

2. Online vs. live class: I've always considered myself to be an in-person learner. While I still think this is true, and this is the reason I chose to participate in the in-person class, I would recommend that everyone that this class online. In the classroom, it is much easier to get off-track and distracted. I've heard that online classroom experiences minimize the amount of time spent entertaining individual's questions (when they may not be particularly helpful for the group), and in turn, maximizes the material covered.

The MGMAT recorded courses are great if you want to score between 600-700, which may be all you need. However, in order to get 700+ the courses themselves don't really cut it.

On the other hand, the books, online tests, and other materials are GREAT! Paired with Google it's all you need to drag you up from a 500 to a 770 ;)

The yellow pad and pen are a great addition to the pack - it eases you into the simulating the tests. The online tests the MGMAT has are a bit more challenging in the math department than the real test but the pressure that creates to learn the shortcuts of the math problems will help you out. SC was what tripped me up the most, but the MGMAT SC book paired with the Official Guide (included in the package) dragged me through that kicking and screaming.

And of course, since it is a pricey course, after you're all done you can sell the books on ebay for a few hundred too. If I were to do it again I'd skip the 9 online courses and just get all the books + online practice exams.

I felt this course was not very helpful in terms of math. They did not provide adequate enough math problems to help solve the Advanced Math problems. It was not until recently that Manhattan GMAT provided the Advanced Math coursebook that I felt was more in line with actual math problems I saw on the real exam. Also, the Number Properties course was very useful.

Generally speaking, I believe each in-class course that is taught my Manhattan GMAT depends on who the instructor is, and what strengths the instructor has. I did not like my initial instructor bc he was very poor at explaining verbal explanations and so I switched into a different course and like my teacher MUCH better.
