I am less hurt about the rejection than the fact that they didn't even bother to notify me. At least HBS was gracious enough to send me an automated email with "Thanks, but no thanks". And they didn't try to offer their part time program as a consolation.
It would have been better if Booth just texted saying "I'm sorry but I don't feel the same way about you. I really value our friendship though, we can keep hanging out on the occasional evening or weekend, but during the days I'm going to be busy with people I like better".
Welp, this was a productive week. Time to go get sloshed and try not to think about the other apps that have been submitted and are out of my control.
