Question: should I do ED?
I'm applying to 8 other schools along with CBS so I'm guessing I shouldn't? lol

I'm applying to 5 other schools and I'm gonna wait for RD - the right thing to do financially and ethically. Unless CBS is your top choice, I would recommend waiting for RD.

Yea a month ago I was so set to apply for ED but now that I think about it RD would be the better option. Don't wanna give myself more stress if I actually do get an offer and want to wait for other schools...Thanks for confirming my logic!

Obviously still waiting to hear on a final decision.

I'm in NYC, not sure if they call Asia, sorry I can't help there. Happy to answer any other questions that could help.

As I complete my application. I am getting a strange error in the review section. Under the usual errors (fill up the blanks stuff), there is one which says

We have detected the following potential problems with your application:

Section
Employment: You should NOT estimate either your salary or bonus. For “Ending Compensation”, please include your most recent salary as the base and your recent bonus as bonus. You must separate salary and bonus.

This is weird because I calculated my salary in USD, to the last digit, so it is very accurate. I dont know how and why it says "potential" problems with this. Anyone faced such issues while uploading?

I had the same problem. I just ignored it and submitted my application. I think it's just a reminder to use your actual salary not an estimate.

One more thing. How did you guys upload the essays. As in, was it word or pdf? If so, what font/spacing did you use while uploading. As I understand some schools mention the font/spacing. I cant find any such requirements for Columbia. Am I missing something?

I’d always suggest PDF, it ensures that your formatting doesn’t go for a toss.

12 point font and 1.5 line spacing looks good to me!

Those submitting from India- how are you converting your absolute marks into GPAs? I had help with the WES Converter and I got an absurdly high GPA. Don't know if that holds.

Hey guys. One of my recommenders is not available due to a surgery. He will be out for next 3 weeks. I will need to search for another person who can do it and this will take time. I think I remember the adcom saying that we will have 3 weeks after the deadline for the recommendations to be submitted. Is that true?

Yes, I do remember them saying 3 weeks.

However, I'm not sure if it's 3 weeks from the deadline or 3 weeks from date of application (I realize this may not be important if you submit on the deadline day).
