I just saw the email that the interview decisions are pushed back to October 16 and final decisions to December 1. I guess it'll be a bit more waiting for us this year.
Sorry, I didn't get that email; could you share the detail? I can't find any mention of it on the website either...
Greetings from London. We hope you and your families remain well in these challenging times.
Thank you for applying to the London Business School MBA. We hope this is just the start of your admissions journey.
What happens next?
We are enjoying reading MBA2023 Round One applications – you are an amazing group of individuals!
We are pleased to have received a totally unprecedented volume of applications in this year’s Round One. Therefore we are moving the initial admissions decision from 8 October to 16 October. On this date you will hear if you have been selected for interview and will progress further in the admissions process or not.
And in line with the first decision date move, the final Admissions Committee decision for those who are interviewed is moved back to 1 December.
We have to make some incredibly tough decisions in order to build our internationally and professionally diverse class of around 500 students. It is this diversity and quality that attracts candidates to apply to LBS, so we work hard to build our classes.
The Admissions Committee is comprised of senior Admissions staff, with advice and input from key stakeholders such as Career Centre Directors, Executive Directors for Programmes and Faculty.
Our Scholarships Committee reviews all Admits’ applications after offers are made and a batch of scholarship awards are made within three weeks and before the first deposit fee requirement. Most of our scholarships are merit based, using the information from your application and interview. We look at your academic performance, but mainly focus on your career success so far, personal fit to LBS and future potential to succeed. There are some donor scholarships awarded later through the year and a modest set of need based awards.
What can I do now?
You’ve done the hard work of putting your application together and taking a GMAT / GRE test. So now you have the challenging wait for the admissions decision. We appreciate that this can be a nervous time for you. If your test score is a long way below our average of 700, you could consider retaking it to make your application more competitive at final Admissions Committee consideration in November. But only you know what your likely maximum score is. I advise you to continue your research on us through our website, online events and Student and Admissions blog.
Once again, thank you for applying to join London Business School’s MBA programme and amazing community.
Best wishes
David Simpson
