Calling all Mendoza(Notre Dame) Applicants:(2016 Intake) Class of 2018

I take back this statement. Got another email shortly after with a link to my application portal stating I have an update.

Okay! I have got a few PMs regarding my interview experience and my plans of joining Mendoza. I am a Female...just to clarify

My interview was with Kristin and it was definitely a VERY pleasant experience. Though it has been a while, I will try and remember as many questions as I can and share with you guys here:

1) Walk me through your profile:
A: Mostly professional history...explained all my job switches...I've worked for 5 companies in 4 years.

2) Why Mendoza? Why MBA?
A: Mendoza is somewhat of a catholic institute and someone had raised this as a concern while shortlisting the BSchool. I told Kristin how I was a graduate from a Jesuit institution and which in fact had reservations for Catholics but I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Mendoza lays a lot of stress on ethics and that is another reason that drives me towards the school. Why MBA, I told her about my long term and short term plans. The long term plan is to set-up a thought-leadership marketing consulting firm.

3) The firm you want to set-up, will it be founded in US or will it be in India?
A: I feel that we are becoming global locals. It could be either one and the location is not a hindrance in today's scenario.

4) Is there any situation where I was in a ethical dilemma and what steps did I take?
A: I had somewhat touched upon this already, because due to ethical disagreements with one of my CEOs (who was my reporting manger in that job), I had walked out of a job without having any other offer at hand.
Also, after a year of this incidence, when I was on a break post wedding, I was offered a job by the same CEO to join his company. I was kinda desperate by that time to go back to the corporate world but turned down the offer.

5) Anything interesting about you:
A: I have adapted a book into a play which I also acted in. She asked me about how it felt to portray my own work etc..

6) She gave me a case study of a New York Opera which is witnessing a drop in ticket sales. What information points will you need to decide how to tackle this? She turned off her camera at this point and had told me that #i can take 5 minutes to think this through. I could grab a paper and a pen and she said that they won't exactly encourage internet surfing.
A: I gave about 7-8 scenarios due to which this could be the case and that we need to check for these. Also, consciously decided to keep my camera on, so that there is absolutely no doubt!

7) Do you have any questions for me?
A: What is the weather usually like? where do students live..on campus/ off campus/ how far etc.

She also somewhere asked me about how I will add to the cohort, why not an executive MBA etc.
told her about my experience with large MNCs to boutique consulting to internet start-up along with Sales experience etc. etc.

As for joining the school, I am still trying to figure out the finances. Doesn't look like I can afford it though, not yet!

Hey everyone, R1 candidate here.. I was waitlisted after my video interview in December, and I got a ZOOM interview invite last week.

I just finished my interview. It was a pleasant interview, and not at all one-sided.

Any idea on the timelines on when I can receive a decision? Anyone in a similar state?

I also applied in round 4 (receive an app fee waiver for that).

Applied for the St. Patrick's Day deadline. Was it a rolling admissions deadline?

How will the applicants who received the interview invite after being waitlisted be evaluated?
Will we evaluated with the R3 applicants or is there some other process?

First of all, I would like to say congratulations to all of you who have been accepted for the class of 2018. As a current student in the 2-year MBA program, with only 6 weeks left to graduation, I say welcome to the family. The time you spend at Notre Dame will be exciting, rewarding, memorable and ultimately, way to short. If anyone is still trying to decide on attending and would like to talk about the ND experience or South Bend please feel free to reach out.

On the housing front, since I will be leaving South Bend in May, I am listing my house for rent, and would prefer to rent it to a MBA student with a family that needs the space. The house is in a safe, family friendly neighborhood 10 minutes north of campus. With 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and a finished basement there is plenty of room. It also has a 2-car attached garage which is important come winter time, and a fenced in back yard for playing. St. Patrick (R4 ) International Applicant. Applied on 3/17, my recommendations were submitted a little late on 3/23 and received an interview invite within 2 hours of submission of recommendations.

Received an interview invite earlier today as well.
