I submitted my application on 17th Oct, have not yet received any update on the application. When do you normally get an update on the application?

If you submitted on Oct. 17th it would be considered a R2 application. That is likely why you haven't heard anything yet.

Had my virtual interview yesterday. Couldn't connect to their system for it, so ended up being a shorter phone interview. Hopefully that doesn't count against me!

Fairly standard questions on professional background, goals, why MBA, why UNC, teamwork skills etc

Got a mail from the school stating that the deadline was extended to 17th Oct for the R1. So I submitted it then, hoping that it won't' be considered in the next round. What do I do next, should I call them and ask whether my application will be considered for the R1 or R2?

I don't think it should be much of an issue. If you have a clear goal and were able to convey it and if you answered the questions without any hesitation then I don't think there is any reason for you to be frightened. It will boil down to the adcoms now whether they feel you are a fit for the upcoming class.

All the best! Fingers crossed.

I think it would be good to confirm from the MBA support staff there. If you do drop an email then please post the reply here also so that others could also benefit from that information!

All the best.

I agree with GMATEXAM439, I would email admissions and confirm the date. I submitted around Oct. 8th and heard back within about a week and a half. Was just on campus, and didn't hear anything about the date changing. I hope you don't have to wait until December.

Best of luck.

Hey everyone!
It's great that the thread has already started. Always pays to start early!

Class of 2018 graduate here and happy to help!

Hi guys,

I am planning to apply for full-time MBA offered by UNC Kenan Flagler. I am stuck at Essay 3.

Is there any additional information not presented elsewhere in your application that you would like the admissions committee to consider? Optional areas to address include:
If you have not had coursework in the core business subjects (calculus, microeconomics, statistics, financial accounting), how will you prepare yourself?
Inconsistent academics, gaps in work, or low standardized test scores
    Choice of recommenders

I didn't do any coursework in the subjects mentioned above. How do I go about writing this essay? Please help

The coursework topic mentioned above is only an example of what you can write in the third essay. You don't necessarily need to write about it. If you decide to write about it anyway, you can write about how you can prepare yourself for the MBA classes which are based on the above-mentioned subjects. You can write about how you plan to learn the fundamentals in these subject before joining MBA etc.

Has anyone took advantage of the application fee waiver during the thanksgiving period? I was hoping to use the same but it keeps on redirecting me to payments page. The mail which mentioned the waiver specified that there won't be a payment page during this period. Did anyone else get this issue?
