Has anyone heard anything on R1 decisions? Does KF call up the admits or informs only on email?

There is no real trend. It totally depends on the interviewer. However, if they call, they call on the Friday before the result day. I got a call and some of my class mates did not. And they do not tell the scholarship details on the call.
