I scored a 650 on my first attempt as well. I wrote it recently. And, I too felt that the questions in quants were difficult. It was definitely nothing like the OG. I am thinking of retaking the GMAT.

I also found the actual quant questions much tougher than the OG questions or the GMAT prep questions.

Maybe its exam day pressure?

Hi Kashifraza,

You can improve your verbal score considerably.
As you studied a lot, you might have learnt most of the concepts but how to apply those concepts is a different matter.

Practice more and more so that you can learn how to apply concepts.

Specially try to learn patterns which GMAT tries to test .

Hello

I had the same Problem Yesterday, Sept 9, 2017. The first quant question was one that i never seen. I scored 660, Q 42 V 39. I know that my quant ability is 48 - 49- 50. However, the first question really stressed me out, spent six minutes to figure out the question and still wasn't able too. After that, the panic took me over and I lost my concentration.
You though could keep your feet tight and got your 48 but unfortunately, i couldn't.
Any suggestion:
Do you think that this is one of those new tricks that GMAT offers from her sleeve to off guard the test takers?

If it was your first attempt, 650 is really good.
But the way you mentioned that quant was very tough than the GMAT Prep and SC was new, I am wondering has GMAC raised the difficulty level of its questions after the changes in the exam?

What do you say experts?

I had the same experience. The Quant Qs were way way off the concepts asked in OG while Verbal Qs were ok.

It means i have to take the exam again. I really thought i would be done with the exam with my third try?

I have a feeling people feel like real exams are more difficult because there is more at stake. Missing a question on a practice test is easier to shrug off.

I have given the exam twice in the last 4 months scored a q50v27 640 and a q49v40 720. The quant level of the actual exam is exactly similar to the gmat prep exams. I would say you all started with quant maybe you all were nervous and take some time to get in the groove. Also the og has very few hard math questions. The og is great for verbal but is bad for quants. Also scoring a point below your mocks in math isn't bad. Any further questions message me. The math and the verbal are exactly the same level as gmatprep. It is the anxiety that causes the problem

I have always found the Quant section on the actual gmat to be way easier than the GMATClub tests... and scored Q48-Q47. I think you might be overthinking the questions...

Same issue with verbal, the questions aren't tougher there is just a lot of time pressure. In practice we generaly take 2-3 minutes to solve questions but we don't realize we're taking so much time. I improved from 350-700 in 6 months period so its definitely doable.
