Available to answer questions for anyone applying Round 3. My R2 Sloan applicant was admitted with $25K, but decided on HBS. Good luck you guys.

Does Sloan have a formal appeal process for individuals rejected during R1 or R2, similar to Kellogg, or they will re-evaluate on their own? I know the adcom had mentioned they would be open to going back and looking at candidates rejected in earlier rounds. Would be great if anyone has more detail on this

I haven't seen anything. From Ms Levenson said on the MBAMission broadcast it sounded like they were going to do it on their own. Listening to what she said though it sounded like R1 was especially competitive and they didn't interview a lot of quality candidates so I think it's reasonable to expect there will be a few interview invites.

And from the looks of the tracker it seems some R3 interview invites went out today, so I wouldn't be surprised if the R1-ding interview invites came out soon. Haven't seen anyone yet from R1 say they got an invite.

That makes sense, though at the same time, wouldn't they expect that quality R1 applicants have already gotten in / put down a deposit somewhere else? It would seem to look pretty bad (even more than it is anyways) for them to email a bunch of rejected R1 candidates who got accepted and paid a deposit at HBS, and then don't take them up on their interview invite at all. Would think allowing the appeal from the student side avoids a bit more potential embarrassment.

I don't disagree. Looking at the decision tracker, there are actually quite a few applicants from R1 who got a ding from Sloan but accepted at H/S/W. Theoretically, these people wouldn't want/need to interview at Sloan (though that doesn't take into account personal preference, so it's not necessarily true). You also have a large number of R1 dings who were accepted at Kellogg/CBS/Booth. Assuming some of them have payed deposits by now, a number of them might not switch camps this late in the ballgame.

So, ultimately I think you're right that an appeal system might make more sense. But, then again it's the same thing isn't it? What's the difference between sending out an interview invite that goes unanswered vs an appeal form that goes unanswered? Sloan really doesn't get embarrassed either way.

We'll see what happens. Hopefully R1 dinged candidates who get interview invites will update the tracker!

Really? I had thought they would specifically be looking at people they had not interviewed, as per the AdCom a few weeks back

rosarosa In a way, Yes. If all the qualified applicants apply early in the process and get admitted, then the later applicants have lower chances.

Thank you.

Also "If you are unable to take the GMAT or GRE due to the COVID-19 situation, please check the box on the application indicating that you are applying without a valid test score" where is this box on the application?

Saw on ClearAdmit that 6 applicants from the extended round have received the interview invite. That’s even more invites sent out than for round 3!? Does it mean they might still have quite a few vacancies?
