Apply ED only if (1) you know you will go WITHOUT any scholarship or (2) You are willing to let go of $6000 if you get into another school with some scholarship.
And CBS announces merit based scholarship decisions in January/February, so no you likely won’t get a decision about scholarship within two weeks of acceptance.

I believe I have a shot at a scholarship at CBS, would I be shooting myself in the foot by choosing ED? And if I did choose ED would I likely be told about my scholarship before the 2 weeks?

I fall into both groups here. I figured if I got zero scholarships from any school I'd pick Columbia first and if I did get a significant scholarship from another school (and none from CBS) I'd wear the $6k. But I'm wondering whether I'm lowering my chances of a scholarship at CBS by doing ED because supposedly they know they have to fight less hard for me?

There’s no way of knowing. CBS adcom has said time and again that applying ED does not affect your scholarship decision. But what you’re saying does make sense at the surface level, atleast to me.

I can confirm the point on scholarship. For Class of 2023, ED applicants heard about scholarships in April. The decisions might have been delayed because of COVID-19, but the general idea is that ED scholarships go out after bulk of RD admits and scholarships
